The Infectious Diseases Clinic is responsible for the entire Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU) to conduct infectious diseases care, education, research, and development.

Job responsibilities

Standard nursing tasks in an infectious/isolation ward. Patients with many different types of diagnoses are cared for in the infection department, such as pneumonia, endocarditis, CNS infections, and sepsis, as well as isolation-requiring diseases such as gastroenteritis, COVID-19, tuberculosis, and infections with multidrug-resistant bacteria. Also, patients with suspected tropical diseases. Both chronic and acute medical conditions.

The patients come from many different cultures and social groups.

About you

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. It is an advantage if you have further education or supervisor training.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position is preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. The Clinical Base Year includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
