ENA Energi AB, founded in 1972, is wholly owned by Enköping Municipality through the company Enköpings Moderbolag AB. The company has been producing electricity and district heating from almost 100% biofuel since the mid-90s when the combined heat and power plant was commissioned. ENA Energi AB has 39 employees and delivers approximately 220 GWh to about 1,800 customers through a district heating network that stretches 120 km and produces about 75 GWh of electricity.
The ambition going forward is to develop the business into a modern future company with new products and services. The biggest journey, however, is the FUTURENA project, which means that the existing production facility will be demolished by 2035 to make way for housing and will thus be replaced by modern green technology in another part of the municipality. This means that the company faces exciting challenges that the position can also be a part of.
Ena Energi AB is looking for shift-based Operations TechniciansIf you are looking for a varied and meaningful job at the heart of the operation, you are the one we are looking for. The role of the operations technician is responsible for production at our facilities, and if you join us, you will contribute to this socially important operation. Through your and your colleagues' work, hospitals, schools, industries, houses, and apartments will receive heat all year round.
About the positionThe position is primarily shift-based, but periods of daytime work and on-call duty may occur. Each shift consists of an operations technician and an operations engineer.
The primary task is to independently perform rounds and monitoring so that our facilities always operate in the most optimal, economical, safe, and environmentally friendly manner possible. This includes ongoing operator maintenance and deviation reporting. Our facility primarily consists of a wood chip-fired combined heat and power unit, in addition to hot water boilers consisting of a pellet boiler, an electric boiler, and several oil boilers. The facility has a steam turbine and flue gas cooler with associated water treatment.
Together with the operations engineer, you will also plan and carry out the start-up and shut-down of facility components and help plan and prioritize maintenance efforts within operations. The business needs to constantly develop, and therefore it also includes working with colleagues to design and develop solutions in process technology issues and participate in planning and execution during revisions at the facility. The position involves significant responsibility; you will be involved in everything from fuel feeding to ash handling and the processes in between, which allows us to offer varied and interesting tasks. This means that tasks such as sampling, fuel and ash analyses, as well as operating a wheel loader may also be relevant.
About youTo thrive and succeed in the role, you are proactive, self-driven, and structured. You have a strong technical interest and understanding of the production process in a combined heat and power plant. You are responsible and willing to raise issues and challenges with the operation while having a good ability to find solutions to operational problems and taking the initiative for improvements and changes.
As a person, you are communicative and contribute to a good working atmosphere among colleagues. Good social skills are important, as is the ability to quickly adapt to emerging situations. Operations do not always go as planned, and a high degree of flexibility is required. But with this comes a varied and meaningful job with great freedom under responsibility.
We believe you have a technical education in operations, a KY education in operations/maintenance, or equivalent. If you have experience from solid fuel facilities, you are particularly interesting to us, and it is advantageous if you have a boiler operator certificate. You have a couple of years of experience working in the combined heat and power industry or process industry.
Knowledge of water chemistry and change management is advantageous. You are used to working data-driven, and experience with ABB control systems is a merit, as well as good handling of the Office package is a requirement. Your knowledge of Swedish and English is good, both spoken and written. A driver's license (B) is required.
ApplicationSince we apply ongoing selection and interviews are conducted continuously, we would therefore like you not to wait to submit your application.
