About us

At the Dialysis Clinic Sahlgrenska, we make a difference for patients in need of dialysis every day.

Here, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors work together with other professionals to create good care for patients with chronic kidney disease. Patients come to the dialysis clinic for treatment two to three times a week.

We also perform plasma exchange treatments, ABO treatments prior to kidney transplantation, and acute dialysis treatments both at the clinic and in the hospital's various ICU departments.

The clinic is open every day of the week, weekdays from 07:00 to 20:00, Saturday 07:00 to 16:00, and Sunday 12:00 to 20:00. We apply fixed schedules, work in two shifts, and only every fourth weekend.

We offer

As a new nurse, you will receive at least eight weeks of training from an experienced nurse, who will then act as your mentor. We want you to feel secure, and there is always someone nearby when you need support.

Every week, the clinic offers continuing education with lectures on topics relevant to the clinic, and there is an opportunity to take a course in nephrology and nursing for 22.5 higher education credits at the University of Gothenburg.

Job responsibilities

As a nurse, you, together with the nursing assistant, will have nursing responsibility for four to five patients. We work based on a person-centered approach with the patient in focus to create conditions for the patient to participate in their dialysis treatment.

You will be offered an exciting job with close patient contact where you create long-lasting and good relationships combined with medical technology, making a difference for patients in need of dialysis.

About you

You are a licensed nurse or soon to be a qualified nurse. Experience in nephrology care is an advantage.

You want to contribute to good collaboration and be part of a team where we support each other. You are confident in yourself, appreciate the close interaction with patients, and enjoy following patients over a long period. Occasionally, unplanned situations arise, and you can adapt, focus on the right things, and reprioritize your work. You have good digital skills.

Meet some of our employees - Sahlgrenska University Hospital

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In case of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
