Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) operates in several locations in Skaraborg, including Falköping, Lidköping, Mariestad, and Skövde. We provide specialist healthcare in around thirty specialties and work together for the patient's health throughout life, offering cohesive and secure care. About Us

The Infectious Diseases Clinic in Skövde, which is part of the area of operations 8 along with cardiology, nephrology, dermatology, and gastroenterology, has a department with 18 isolation rooms and a clinic that has included a needle exchange program since 2018.

We also have 7–8 beds available in the Infectious and Orthopedic Department.

The mission for infection is:

• To provide qualified care for acute and chronic infectious diseases in Skaraborg around the clock.
• To provide consultation support for diagnostics, treatment, infection control, vaccinations, and travel medicine.
• To promote rational antibiotic use through STRAMA and antibiotic rounds.
• To ensure high quality and accessibility to maintain trust among patients and healthcare providers.
• To conduct research and development work.
• To be an attractive workplace with a good working environment and open climate.
• To function as an educational unit for medical candidates and nursing students.

Infectious Diseases Department

The department has 18 single rooms for isolation care, covering the entire Skaraborg area. Through isolation care and well-functioning hygiene routines, we aim to prevent the spread of infection in a patient-centered care environment. Here, critically ill patients are cared for, often requiring monitoring and advanced treatment. The department is continuously evolving, with new technologies such as monitoring systems and high-flow oxygen treatment. Our employees have high competence and actively contribute to the development of the organization to meet changing infection panoramas, both globally and nationally.

The clinic is also planning a renovation of the isolation department, infectious diseases clinic, and needle exchange program.

Job Responsibilities

If you enjoy challenges, pace changes, and find it easy to collaborate, you are welcome to an inclusive infectious diseases department. In our department, you will work independently but in a team with doctors, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists around acutely ill infectious patients. A hygiene-focused approach where risk awareness in everyday work is the basis for preventing the spread of infection is a given. The work includes mentoring and educating both patients and colleagues, as well as contributing to the development of the organization.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in infectious care – if you don’t have that, you will gain it with us. If you are flexible, responsible, and have a positive attitude, you could be the one we are looking for!
