Approximately 2500 employees work in the Welfare Administration. The administration is governed by the Welfare Committee based on the administration's mission statement - "Together we facilitate people's ability to live a meaningful life" - as we work to achieve the municipality's vision: We build best together.
Strategic Support is a department that gathers supportive and strategic functions within the Welfare Administration.
The department consists of 12 employees, including archive assistants, committee secretaries, investigators in social law, housing and environment, as well as public health, assistants, administrative secretaries, and local coordinators.
We are now looking for a department head to strengthen our team. Welcome to contribute your skills and commitment in a role where you can truly make a difference!
Responsibilities
As the department head, you will lead the Strategic Support department and be responsible for finance, personnel, and working environment. You will drive process development, lead projects, conduct in-depth investigations, and write service memos. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the administration manager, political leadership, and internal and external operations, contributing to effective coordination and governance of the administration's work.
You are part of the Welfare Administration's management group and are responsible for developing important strategic areas through collaboration both internally and with external actors. The role includes coordinating management meetings and dialogue days with the political leadership, as well as identifying and driving assignments to ensure the quality of the administration's processes. You will also be responsible for planning operations and resources through, for example, annual operational planning, ensuring that strategic tasks are carried out effectively.
If necessary, you will lead meetings and represent the administration in contexts where the administration manager cannot participate. You will monitor the external environment to stay updated in your field and provide the management group with relevant and current information.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with an academic degree that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. You are an experienced manager and leader who is well acquainted with the legislation governing municipal assignments. Experience from politically governed operations is an advantage, as collaboration and dialogue with political leadership are an important part of daily work. Experience in procurement and follow-up of external providers is also advantageous.
You are goal and results-oriented and have the ability to see the whole picture of the operation. You motivate and engage others to achieve common goals and create participation in groups. As a person, you are self-assured, attentive, and communicative in your relationships with others.
In your work, you must be able to independently structure, plan, and organize your work, as well as support others in these processes. You ensure that information is conveyed clearly and are diligent with follow-up. You express yourself well in both speech and writing and have good knowledge of the Swedish language. Since investigations are part of the assignment, it is also important that you have very good computer skills.
Working with us means working in an inspiring and developing workplace! We combine office work with remote work, which has become our new normal. We have modern and pleasant premises centrally located in Örnsköldsvik, with good communication links. Here you get a chance to take on a developing role and together with us create positive change for the residents of the municipality.
A driving license, category B, is required.
Please attach your CV and cover letter with your application.
