Summer Host at Solna Leisure Library
Do you want an active and social job this summer? As a Summer Host at Solna Leisure Library, you will lend out recreational equipment, organize fun activities, and create a wonderful summer atmosphere.
Perfect for those who enjoy movement, people, and sunny days!
About us
Solna Leisure Library will operate a mobile service during the summer, touring around the neighborhoods of Solna. We are therefore looking for several engaged and responsible Summer Hosts whose task is to represent Solna Leisure Library, including free lending of recreational items and ensuring a smooth and safe operation. The job also includes conducting smaller events during the library's visits on-site.
Our offer
An active and meaningful summer job with the opportunity to help more people try out recreational activities.
- Fantastic colleagues who bring joy to the workplace and meet you with big hearts and warm hands.
- Good and thorough introduction.
- Facilities with good communication pathways.
What does the job entail?
As a Summer Host, you will lend out play items, answer questions from citizens, sometimes provide refreshments, and occasionally organize activities or participate in sports. Practically, you will travel with a colleague and visit one location per day where you will set up tents, flags, and play items and be available to assist with lending. In case of persistent rain, the activity will be canceled, but you will be assigned other tasks.
The work period is from week 25 to week 33.
You do not need to be able to work all weeks, but the more weeks you can work, the better. Working hours are approximately Monday to Saturday from 12 PM to 6 PM, and along with some preparation time, this corresponds to full-time (39.5 hours per week). Initially, we plan based on the assumption that it is not possible to work parts of a week; rather, during the week you work, you will serve all days.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:
- completed high school education with passing grades in Swedish, English, and Mathematics
- experience working with children and/or in service professions
- experience working as a leisure leader or in a leadership role with children and youth.
- Class B driver's license without restrictions for automatic vehicles
- physical ability to carry items, set up tents, and arrange furniture daily.
- fluent command of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- previous experience in similar work
- education in child/leisure, sports, or leisure leadership.
You who apply need to be service-oriented, proactive, and enterprising. We are looking for someone with an open, tolerant, and norm-critical approach with a strong sense of service. It is important that you can provide all our visitors with a good reception. You work in a structured manner while having a good ability to adapt to changing conditions.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the assignment.
