About the operation

We are a specialist psychiatric department targeting outpatient clinics within Affective Psychiatry and Personality Disorder Clinic in Gothenburg.

The department has 14 beds for the assessment and treatment of patients with severe depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, neuropsychiatric conditions, and severe crisis reactions.

In both assessment and treatment work, a close collaboration with relatives is pursued. Cooperation also occurs with psychiatric outpatient care, primary care, social services, employment services, and the Social Insurance Agency.

We will be able to offer you various training during your employment to ensure that you gain increased competence and knowledge about psychiatric conditions and treatments within the psychiatric care context.

The inpatient care within Affective Psychiatry collaborates between departments regarding nursing staff supply.

All employees also receive wellness grants.

Job responsibilities

As a nurse, you will work in a team together with nursing assistants, doctors, and social workers in the department and have a leading role for the nursing staff. You will perform regular nursing tasks within psychiatric care.

The treatment work also includes crisis intervention, supportive and motivational conversations, medication treatment, and ECT. The treatment work also includes anxiety management and breaking social isolation. Day and evening staff work according to a 5-week schedule, meaning you will work two out of five weekends and alternating day and evening shifts.

About you

You who apply should be a licensed nurse and have a professional approach based on a patient and relative perspective. You enjoy working in a changing pace and have the ability to structure and prioritize between different tasks for yourself and the team. We also value that you have the ambition to develop your competence within psychiatric healthcare.

We are looking for someone interested in working with our psychiatric target group. Experience in psychiatric emergency care or psychiatric outpatient care is advantageous. We value cultural and ethnic diversity as well as a balanced age and gender distribution in the staff group.

We appreciate that you find change work positive and interesting. We also value that you contribute to a pleasant work environment and good patient care with openness in your approach. In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
