Summer Job at Daily Activities for the Elderly

Hello! We're glad you're interested in a summer job at one of our daily activities for the elderly - Kompaniet and Sjöbodan/Kajutan!

Daily activities are aimed at elderly individuals living at home who, for various reasons, cannot be as active as they once were. We offer our guests activities and social interaction to enhance their quality of life.

At our various daily activities, around 10 guests are present at a time. Kompaniet has a social focus and is located at Kronan. Sjöbodan and Kajutan, located at Bergviken, cater to individuals with cognitive impairments and dementia, accommodating a total of about 20 guests per day, with 10 spots in each facility.

We are continuously reviewing applications, which means you may be called for an interview at short notice, and positions may be filled before the application deadline has passed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Your tasks with us are varied, and you primarily work to create a meaningful stay for our guests through a person-centered approach.

You will plan the day and week together with your colleague, organizing work based on which guests are coming. Responsibilities include preparing snacks and lunch, as well as organizing activities based on the weather, interests, and preferences of the guests. This may involve singing together, playing games, bowling, painting, crafting, grilling sausages, celebrating holidays, or otherwise socializing with our guests. Where needed, you will provide support and assistance with personal care and meals. You will greet and accompany guests to their transportation and maintain contact with transport services, relatives, and home care. Documentation in Combine is also part of the job.

Working hours are daytime from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday, and summer positions typically span from week 26 to 33.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and a genuine interest and commitment to working with elderly people. To thrive with us, you should enjoy working in a team and be flexible in planning when circumstances change.

We prefer candidates with experience in the field of dementia and those who have previously worked in other daily activities, healthcare, education, or other creative professions.

It is advantageous if you have completed or are currently pursuing education in healthcare or nursing. For this role, you must be able to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

As a person, you should be stable, relationship-building, creative, and collaborative. We place great emphasis on personal qualities in this recruitment.
