The Social Services Administration operates under the principle that all people we meet have the same value and are unique. Within the administration, there are IFO, LSS operations, social psychiatry, health care, home care, and special accommodations. About 800 employees work here, available around the clock for our target groups.
Short-term care is a service responsible for short-term supervision and short-term stays according to LSS. Short-term supervision for school youth over 12 years is planned before or after school hours, as well as during holidays. Short-term stays outside the home are temporary stays for shorter or longer periods. Often, the stay involves overnight accommodation for one or several nights and can occur both on weekdays and weekends.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Being a support pedagogue is a responsible job that provides personal development and much joy in return.
As a support pedagogue, you are a knowledge resource and a role model in pedagogical work and interaction. You are responsible for seeking, gathering, and disseminating new knowledge about pedagogical methods in the operation and have a close dialogue with the unit manager to drive the implementation of the training initiatives carried out. You contribute to developing and using individually adapted solutions for the guests and provide support to your colleagues regarding methodology, pedagogy, social documentation, and implementation plans.
The foundation of the assignment is to be involved in the daily work and perform everyday and planned support measures based on the guests' implementation plans. The work includes personal and medical care, assistance during meal situations, transfers, and being a support during leisure activities. Daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping are also included. As a support pedagogue, you will be an important resource in the daily work to develop quality and increase the guests' independence.
Together with others in the workgroup, you will continue to develop working methods and approaches with the goal of giving individuals participation, influence, and increased independence. You will collaborate with other support pedagogues in the disability field and will be a support for other groups.
The working hours are scheduled for 8 weeks and planned during the day and evenings, weekdays, and 4 weekends out of 8.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has at least 200 points from vocational college or 60 points from university or a combination of both equivalent to at least two semesters of full-time studies. The entire education should have a clear focus on the area of disabilities.
Experience working with people with special needs and experience with neuropsychological disabilities is a requirement. It is advantageous if you have previous professional experience working with children and young people. Knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is a merit.
You enjoy being there for others and your goal is to provide care of the highest quality with the individual in focus. You demonstrate personal maturity, are responsible, and have an approach that respects the guests' integrity. You have no problem working independently while also being able to collaborate easily with others and can adapt your way of conveying messages to different people and situations.
To succeed in the role of support pedagogue, we see that you have a genuine interest in the area of operations, keep yourself updated on new methods and working methods within LSS, and have the ability to gain others' trust in development issues.
A large part of the tasks involves communicating with different parties and working with documentation, which requires good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Basic computer skills to document and conduct email correspondence are also a requirement.
The work may involve transfers and movement, so you should have a physique that can handle this. A B driver's license is a requirement.
