About us

Stockholm's Esthetic High School, also known as STEG, is an independent non-profit high school in Liljeholmen with an aesthetic program focused on dance, theater, and music. Our guiding principles are knowledge and creativity, which means that learning and development in both theoretical and artistic subjects create a meaningful whole for the students.

The theater team consists of 4 theater teachers who collaborate on course design, group division, performances, shows, and visits to theater productions. You will also be part of a wonderful staff group that works together for the benefit of all students. STEG is a school where it is easy to become part of the community.

We have about 250 students divided into three classes in each grade. The unique aspect of STEG is probably the atmosphere. We share a passion for music, dance, and theater, and the many concerts and performances at the school contribute to the cohesion. Because the school is so small and safe, all students are seen and can be who they want to be.

Every week we have Friday entertainment for the whole school where students can sign up to perform. We have real student democracy with structured student councils, class councils, and associations - a unique influence that also contributes to responsibility and pride in our school.

The school is centrally located in Liljeholmen with good transportation and school facilities that allow students and teachers to meet and be seen. The school is run by an economic association and owned by staff and students together, which means that participation, responsibility, and influence permeate everyday school life. The staff group is competent and stable with a very good atmosphere. The students' ambitious performances and concerts are important elements of the artistic education and contribute to the positive atmosphere that characterizes the school.

Your profile:

• licensed high school teacher in theater
• professional experience from high school as well as from the theater world
• creative, ambitious, and self-driven
• humble about temporarily stepping into an existing structure and planning
• documented good collaboration skills and a genuine interest in teamwork around the students

Your assignment:

The theater classes consist of about 32 students, and theater instruction is conducted in half classes. We have two large theater halls and three smaller theater halls, which allows for flexible group division.

You will teach the following courses:

• Scenic Expression Level 1
• Scenic Expression Level 2
• Aesthetic Communication 1
• Scenic Expression 3
• Co-assessment in the graduation project

Additionally, there are regular teacher tasks such as preparation and follow-up work, dialogue with students, colleagues, and parents, attendance management, assessment, written evaluations, etc.

Evening work occurs, for example, visits to theaters and students' own performances.
