About the Position

As a nurse with us in the staffing unit, you will be responsible for the psychiatric care process - working closely with the patient and other care staff.

You will do this by planning, implementing, and evaluating care measures related to the patient's needs. This may include supporting the patient in regaining routines, stabilizing sleep, managing anxiety, and more.

Being part of the staffing unit means you are someone who enjoys flexibility and wants to work across all departments within psychiatric inpatient care. You will have a fixed basic schedule and start from one department but can be moved around depending on needs. By being part of the staffing unit, you will gain broad experience and knowledge as you will meet patients with various psychiatric conditions and illnesses.

It is of great importance that you as a person have the ability to collaborate with other professions and departments since you will work in all departments. You will also perform and follow up on medical treatments, manage medications, and monitor their effects and side effects. We want you as an employee to feel that you have the opportunity to take responsibility for your knowledge, that you dare to make your own decisions, and feel secure in doing so. When a patient leaves our department, we want this to be done with a sense of having been seen, listened to, and given tools to be empowered in their recovery.

For this position, we offer night shifts (32h/week).

About the Workplace

PIVA is a psychiatric intensive care unit that is connected to the psychiatric emergency department, ward 26 is a general psychiatric ward focused on older individuals with various psychiatric diagnoses and psychosis care, while ward 19 is a general psychiatric ward. All departments care for patients aged 18 and older. This means that as a nurse with us, you will utilize your entire professional skill set but also broaden it.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. If you have a specialist education in psychiatry, we consider this an advantage.

As a nurse in the staffing unit, it is important that you are a leader who can and dares to reprioritize. You are your most important working tool for creating a trusting care relationship and finding ways forward together with the patient. We expect you to have a positive view of people and a desire and drive to develop care.
