Business Description

The position is located in the planning department of the community building and technical administration. The administration's mission includes community planning, land and development, streets and water, property management, and the municipality's GIS function, which provides services and functions to all administrations in the municipality.

Job Responsibilities

As a GIS engineer in Gällivare municipality, you will work with the maintenance, upkeep, and administration of geodata within the municipality's organization. Gällivare municipality uses ESRI's GIS platform with Geosecma's operational solution. Your responsibilities will include analysis, data collection, processing, and presentation of geodata to provide reliable knowledge bases. Part of your time will also be spent on training and developing services in Gällivare municipality's GIS platform, which is based on ArcGIS Enterprise.

In addition, you will be involved in various projects within community building where GIS expertise is needed, such as the digitization of the community building process, and provide important support for the municipality's GIS users. In your role as a GIS engineer, you are a vital function and part of community development in Sweden's most exciting region and municipality.

Qualifications

Higher education in community building with a focus on GIS, measurement and cartography, or other education or experience deemed equivalent by the employer. The position requires experience with ESRI's GIS platform (ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap). Experience and knowledge of Geosecma's operational solution for municipalities is an advantage. Knowledge and experience of FME, SQL, ArcGIS Enterprise, as well as measurement and cartography, are also advantageous. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is advantageous when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.
