Special Educator with Central Placement in the Child and Student Health Unit

The operational area of the Child and Student Health Unit spans the special educational, medical, social, and psychological fields.

The Child and Student Health Unit has a mandate that includes children and students from preschool to high school within the municipal operations. The assignment largely involves contributing to creating conditions that promote children's and students' learning, development, and health. The unit consists of a preschool team, school teams, and school psychologists with central placement, as well as social workers and school nurses located at the municipality's schools.

We are looking for a special educator with a focus on preschool. You will be part of the preschool team where we work together in a health-promoting and preventive manner with a salutogenic approach.

The assignment is based on supporting preschool educators in inclusive work. We work at the organizational, group, and individual levels and have close collaboration with preschool principals and other support functions such as SLS developers and pedagogical supervisors. The preschool team is led by a coordinator who is also part of the management group of the Child and Student Health Unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• has previously worked as a preschool teacher and further educated themselves as a special educator.
• has good knowledge of health-promoting and preventive child health work.
• has a salutogenic approach and relational perspective as the foundation of their view of humanity.
• is well acquainted with preschool governing documents and continuously keeps updated on new research related to the assignment.

The assignment requires independence as well as a good ability to collaborate at various levels.

We value qualities such as responsiveness, flexibility, a good ability to work in a structured manner, strong communication skills, and being solution-oriented.

The assignment requires good administrative skills as a large part of the work is related to documentation.

Your tasks include:

• working both independently and in groups at the organizational, group, and individual levels with various interventions.
• actively participating in developing, strengthening, and leading health-promoting and preventive work, both within the unit and at preschools from a special educational perspective.
• training preschool educators in, for example, clear pedagogical approaches, low-arousal responses, and TAKK.
• working with consultation and advice.
• supervising work teams.
• developing preschool's accessible learning environments from a special educational perspective.
• supporting preschools' work with individual children through, for example, observations, pedagogical assessments, and action plans.
• participating in conversations with guardians as needed.
• collaborating with, for example, habilitation, child health clinics, speech therapy clinics, and in external networks.

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you are a trained supervisor, have experience in supervision, and also have some experience in training.

Other

A driver's license (B) is required as the area has geographical spread.
