The Supply Management Administration is a department within the Västra Götaland Region. The operations are conducted throughout Västra Götaland, focusing on supply and logistics for the region's various activities. We develop and deliver services in meals, laundry, pharmaceutical products, and aids, as well as stock and distribute products.

We are now looking for kitchen assistants at Östra Hospital in Gothenburg. Welcome with your application by April 6.

About the position

As a kitchen assistant at Östra Hospital, you contribute to creating and delivering high-quality meals. You will be an important part of the work to prepare delicious, safe, and healthy meals for patients and visitors at the hospital. Your tasks are varied and performed in our production kitchen and lunch restaurant. Examples of tasks include:

• serving in the lunch restaurant
• preparing salad buffets and bread
• assisting with cooking lunch dishes and patient meals
• cash handling and customer contact
• setting tables for patients
• packing food items
• washing dishes and cleaning

The kitchen operates Monday to Sunday from 06:15 to 17:30, and working hours vary from week to week.

About you

We are looking for someone with a completed upper secondary education in restaurant and food or equivalent vocational training. You have a couple of years of experience in similar tasks. You communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, and can easily engage in dialogue with customers and colleagues as well as follow and understand written and oral work instructions. As work in the kitchen is physically demanding, you need to have the stamina required to stand and walk throughout the workday, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.

As a person, you are good at collaborating with others, you are communicative and helpful, and you have the willingness and ability to deliver good service in a fast-paced environment. In the coming years, our journey in meals will be digitalized, which requires future employees to be comfortable using digital tools.

Previous experience in serving, customer contact, and cash handling is an advantage for the position.
