JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a qualified vocational teacher in construction and civil engineering with competence as a construction machine operator, or are you currently working in the construction industry as a construction machine operator and feel that you want to advance in your career? Do you want to help develop education at a successful upper secondary school? Then you could be our new colleague!

We are looking for someone who wants to complement our team in the construction program with your knowledge and competence as a construction machine operator. You will be part of a team with other teachers who jointly plan, design, and implement teaching. The position involves teaching students in grades 2 and 3 in various practical and theoretical courses in machine operation and civil engineering, together with another teacher. This is focused on students studying the construction machine operator and civil engineering orientation.

A success factor for successful teaching with our students is that you enjoy working closely with them in various learning situations. Education takes place partly at Alléskolan but mainly at our facility in Åsbro, where we have good conditions for machine operator and civil engineering education in a relevant environment. We have just completed new premises with classrooms, offices, and changing rooms for students and staff directly adjacent to the training area. Some students in the relevant student groups are studying for the professional outcome of rock workers, so theoretical and practical knowledge in rock and mining technology is meritorious.

The assignment also includes being a mentor for a group of students together with a colleague to guide and support them through their education and into their future careers. Parts of the students' education are conducted at companies. You will be responsible for visits and follow-ups of students' time at companies, so maintaining and developing good contacts with the industry is therefore important in your role.

As a teacher at Alléskolan, you have a seasonal position, which means an average annual working time of 45.5 hours per week, of which 35 hours are workplace-based time and 10.5 hours are trust time. The working period is from mid-August to mid-June, and as a teacher, you are off during Christmas, sports, Easter, and summer holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

• Vocational teacher degree/teaching certification in construction and civil engineering with a focus on civil engineering work and specifically as a construction machine operator.
• Alternatively, long and current professional experience from the construction industry as a construction machine operator.
• Good computer skills
• Driver's license B and authorization and professional certificate for earth-moving machines, excavators, and wheel loaders.

Personal qualities:

• You can work both independently and collaboratively with others
• You have good communicative and pedagogical skills
• You plan and organize your work effectively
• You are structured, flexible, and have a positive and professional approach when meeting other people

Meritorious:

• Experience working with machine control for excavators,
• Theoretical and practical knowledge in rock and mining work,
• and other relevant training such as Work on the Road 1.1-1.3.

We place great importance on personal suitability and current professional experience as a machine operator.

We ask you to attach certificates that confirm your professional experience and teaching degree/teaching certification if you hold one.

OTHER

If you have a vocational teacher degree, you will be offered a permanent position. For those who lack a vocational teacher degree, a fixed-term employment for one academic year will be offered, with the possibility of extension. After 1.5 years, you may have the opportunity to take supplementary education to achieve teaching eligibility. You will then have the opportunity to work and study simultaneously.
