JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for several seasonal workers for the technical department, street, and park. The position is located in one of the larger towns in the municipality, but travel within the entire municipality may occur. As a street and park worker, you will be part of Uppvidinge Municipality's technical department, which is responsible for ensuring that our parks, streets, beaches, and other public environments maintain high quality. Your main tasks include park maintenance such as lawn mowing, cleaning, and some street maintenance. Since we are a smaller organization, other tasks within street and park maintenance may also occur. You contribute to a good structure and continuous improvement of the department's work.

You will be part of a friendly and cooperative workgroup of about 10 people, where we help each other to solve the day's tasks. Our main responsibility is to maintain the outdoor environments in Åseda, Lenhovda, Älghult, and Norrhult, but work may also occur in other parts of the municipality. Tasks include lawn mowing, weeding, and maintenance of beaches, illuminated trails, and cultural paths, etc.

To thrive in the role, you should have a strong interest and knowledge of the maintenance of outdoor environments and preferably an interest in machinery. We place great importance on personal suitability, where we value that you have good collaboration skills while it is also important that you can work independently according to given instructions but also see what needs to be done.

The work period extends from June 1, 2025, to September 26, 2025, with some flexibility regarding start and end dates by agreement. The position is full-time.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least 1 year of experience in outdoor maintenance, preferably in street and park maintenance.
• A driver's license (B) is required.
• Has experience working outdoors.
• Has good knowledge of the Swedish language.
• Is service-oriented, flexible, and has good collaboration skills.
• Is available to work during the holiday period when the need for extra staff is greatest.

Meritorious:

• License for brush cutters and chainsaws.
• Experience working on roads.
• Repair skills with a strong interest in machinery.

OTHER

If you are selected for employment, the employer will request an extract from the criminal record. The municipal council has decided that all new hires must present a criminal record extract before employment. The extract to be presented is the one for work in schools or preschools.
