About the position

We are now seeking a subject teacher with a focus on kitchen for the hotel, restaurant, and bakery program at an adapted upper secondary school.

Examples of job responsibilities:

  • individually and together with your work team plan, implement, and evaluate your work according to Gysär 13/Gy25 (the school's governing documents)
  • lead teaching in cold, hot, and large kitchens as well as bakery
  • teach theoretical subjects in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Bakery program at the adapted upper secondary school
  • stimulate and motivate students to develop their abilities and create opportunities for learning
  • supervise the student assistants connected to the program
  • mentorship for students
  • collaborate with other subject teachers across the entire Virginska gymnasiet
  • resource teaching may occur in the position

About the workplace

The adapted upper secondary school is for young people who do not meet the school's knowledge requirements due to an intellectual disability. The municipal adapted upper secondary school is organized under Tullängsgymnasiet but conducts parts of its operations at Virginska gymnasiet and Kvinnerstaområdet. We have 102 employees and 136 students in our organization. This position is primarily located at Virginska gymnasiet, but employment at the adapted upper secondary school means that you are available for work throughout the organization.

The adapted upper secondary school is part of the Upper Secondary and Labor Market Administration. Qualifications

We see that you as a teacher with us have a flexible approach to your surroundings, that you are creative and have an easy time building new relationships. The position requires humility, attentiveness, and flexibility. We expect you to be a team player with your own drive. You are trustworthy in your communication and solution-focused when meeting students, guardians, and colleagues.

You are self-sufficient in your work, and the role also requires you to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with students and other staff, as well as document what the operations require in writing.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • qualified subject teacher in hotel, restaurant, and bakery
  • industry experience

Meritorious:

  • experience working with children and youth with disabilities (NPF, ID)
  • experience working in adapted upper secondary school or adapted primary school
  • knowledge of AAC and TAKK (signs as alternative and complementary communication)

Scope and start date

Employment type: permanent position

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: August 7 or by agreement

Additional information

Teacher certification with specified qualifications must be attached to the application, or alternatively, a qualification-granting degree that entitles you to certification.
