Care Assistant to Risholnsgården

Risholnsgården is located in Danholn, about 10 kilometers outside central Falun. Risholnsgården is a residence for people with dementia. There are 40 apartments at Risholnsgården, distributed over 5 departments.

We are now looking for more care assistants to join our team! At Risholnsgården, care assistants, nursing assistants, unit managers, nurses, and rehabilitation staff work closely together, which we see as a given! We also strive for good collaboration with other actors who have assignments or relationships with our operations.

Job Responsibilities

The work mainly involves providing good and person-centered care and support to those living in our facility. Care and support work includes, among other things, personal care as well as providing support, security, and assistance in various service tasks, such as meal situations, cleaning, and laundry, among others. The work also involves promoting social activity and creating opportunities for individuals to maintain their own resources. Each individual care recipient has their own dedicated care contact, who has extra responsibility and regular contact with relatives and close ones. Depending on interest and expertise, the role of care assistant may include varying areas of responsibility. A strong focus is placed on the care staff's ability to meet the residents in a person-centered manner and according to the response plan.

In the work, there is an opportunity for professional development in relevant areas for the job, and as part of our team, you will need to undergo several training sessions in the field of dementia during your introduction.

Qualifications

The following is required for the role:

• Three-year care program from high school or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• Good ability to express oneself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Good experience working with people with dementia
• Familiarity with using computers and mobile devices as work tools
• You must be at least 18 years old

Personal Qualities

In this role, you need to have a strong commitment and interest in the target group. You take responsibility for your work and your health. It is important that you have the ability to create a sense of security and can convey calmness by being loyal, stable, service-oriented, having good judgment, and an empathetic ability. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with people who have dementia and who is open to new ways of working in care and support.

You work well with others, are attentive, and listen actively. Furthermore, you have good communication skills and resolve conflicts constructively. You take responsibility for the development of the workgroup and have the ability to adapt quickly to new circumstances. You can independently prioritize tasks and remain calm even in stressful situations.

In the role, you will need to have knowledge and understanding of dementia. You will need to empathize with someone else's perspective or situation without taking over the person's feelings. The ability to be calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach is important, as well as having an interest and willingness to help others and striving to deliver solutions.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience working with the documentation system Treserva and the planning tool TES, or other systems deemed equivalent by the employer
• Experience working with various assessment tools such as BPSD, Senior Alert, or equivalent
• Experience delegating health and medical care tasks
• Previous experience with agency assignments and/or areas of responsibility
• Driver's license and access to a car

Employment Conditions

The positions are permanent full-time employment according to the full-time agreement with the possibility of part-time work. We apply a smoke-free work environment, and working hours are scheduled according to desired schedules, with day, evening, and weekend shifts; there is also the possibility to work nights.
