Trygga Familjehem i Sverige AB is now looking for families/individuals who want to help children & youth aged 0-20 years. We are looking for both foster homes and emergency homes.

Being an emergency home or foster home.

Being a foster home is interesting, challenging, and above all rewarding! It involves opening the doors to your home, your family, your daily life, and offering safety, guidelines, rules, and above all, a lot of joy and heart, as well as a desire to share your life.

This certainly presents a significant challenge and requires a clear ambition to succeed. This ambition must be shared by all family members, and a common understanding of what the assignment entails is of great importance. It is, of course, true that everyone is affected by a new individual moving in and becoming part of the family. Note that even a single person can be an emergency or foster home.

The most important thing is that you have a genuine interest in helping a child/youth to a better life. You must also be able to collaborate with all actors around the placed child/youth, such as schools, social workers, foster home consultants, etc.

To manage a placement, you need a little extra of everything; space, time, and ability! Our requirements for starting a foster home investigation include:

• You must be 25 years or older
• You must not have a criminal record, be listed in the social insurance agency's register for long-term sickness, the enforcement authority's register, or the social register in the last five years
• There must be a free bedroom available for the placed child, without any family member having to give up their bedroom. Note that common areas do not count as bedrooms.
• Your housing must be permanent, meaning you are not renting in the second hand, are a lodger, or similar. The housing must be fully furnished and cozy.
• You must be fully healthy and able to work
• You must have a stable income and livelihood
• At least one of you must have time for meetings with social services and us foster home consultants
• You must not have any major upcoming life changes, such as moving, long trips, new studies, pregnancy, or similar
• You must be proficient in the Swedish language

Trygga Familjehem supports, guides, and trains

As a foster home, you will receive Trygga Familjehem's basic training for foster homes. The purpose is to make the placement as good as possible for both the placed individual and the foster home. Our consultants are always close at hand for ongoing guidance and training for the family during the placement. Your foster home consultant will visit you regularly, and you will have a close collaboration in everything concerning the placed individual, such as implementation plans and authority contacts. You will have 24/7 support by phone for any questions you may have. Trygga Familjehem's work and approach are to be available, provide support, help, ideas, and motivation!

Good financial compensation

Opening your home to a child, youth, or young adult is not about money, but about helping someone who needs a safe and stable environment. However, you should still have solid compensation for the work you do.

The compensation is paid out in two parts: a cost compensation of about 5500 SEK/month to cover food, clothing, travel, etc., and a fee for the work you perform.

The fee varies from 20,000 SEK/month and upwards, depending on the complexity of the placement.
