Department Head for Infection Control in Halland

Our mission is to deliver good service and expertise in infection control to the health and medical care administrations and all municipalities in Region Halland.

About the job

The organization will be involved in significant changes in the coming years. A major change is Region Halland's local supply plan, which will be implemented in all three hospital areas, where Infection Control is expected to contribute its expertise. As department head, you will also be responsible for the regional assignment concerning infection control, which means having many different contacts, meeting forums, and partners throughout the region.

A clear and change-oriented leader is needed for the benefit of employees, the organization, and the residents of Halland.

A portion of the position will involve clinical work within infection control or our laboratory operations.

As a manager in Region Halland, you have two assignments: to steer and lead with a focus on results and to engage and motivate your employees. You are the employer's representative and represent Region Halland, which means you have an understanding of the organization as a whole.

You will be employed in a permanent position in your base profession with a four-year appointment as a manager.

About the workplace

Infection Control operates throughout Region Halland, and the employee group consists of infection control nurses located in Varberg and Halmstad, as well as an administrative assistant in Halmstad. As department head, you are expected to be present in both locations.

The management group consists of the operations manager, department heads, and medically responsible leaders, HR partners, and controllers who are adjourned as needed.

Approximately 60 employees work within the entire clinic, consisting of professional groups: infection control nurses, infection control physicians, biomedical analysts, laboratory assistants, laboratory technicians, doctors, microbiologists, molecular biologists, medical secretaries, application specialists, and administrative staff.

Clinical Microbiology and Infection Control are part of the Medical Diagnostics area, along with Radiology Halland, Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion Medicine, and Clinical Pathology and Cytology. Collaboration with department heads within the area occurs, especially within laboratory disciplines. For optimal delivery, we maintain a close collaboration with our clients within Region Halland.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an appropriate higher education/university degree, or equivalent knowledge that we consider comparable and compatible with working clinically within our clinic. Previous management experience, preferably within healthcare or public sector/politically governed organizations, is an advantage. Education in leadership and experience in change management and development and improvement work are also seen as advantageous.

The role requires the ability and knowledge to plan and optimize staffing related to the organization's needs, financial conditions, and in accordance with applicable labor laws. Knowledge and understanding of systematic work environment management are also advantageous.

To ensure good and safe communication with colleagues, customers, and other contacts both regionally and nationally, we require good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

As a person, you find it easy to collaborate and create good relationships both within and outside your own organization. Recruitment Process

Interviews are scheduled for the morning of April 7th.

If you proceed in the recruitment process, a personality test and a final interview with the recruiting manager, department head, and HR partner will take place. This will be followed by an interview with union representatives from the local collaboration group.
