JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an advisor to SPSM's Resource Center for Vision, which provides national special pedagogical support in the area of visual impairment/blindness to school authorities, principals, teachers, and educational staff. At the request of school authorities, we conduct special pedagogical investigations. We also offer information and training to teachers, educational staff, and guardians.
Currently, we have approximately 40 employees located in Stockholm, Örebro, Gothenburg, Linköping, and Växjö.
As an advisor, you will work with special pedagogical investigations in requests from preschools, schools, and school authorities. The support we provide should be preventive and promotional to achieve a long-term and sustainable result. The special pedagogical support should facilitate for the school authority, preschools, and schools to provide an equal education according to the requirements of the Education Act across all school forms. Each request is unique in its own way, and you, in dialogue with colleagues and your manager, will have great opportunities to influence the design of the support provided.
As an advisor at the Resource Center for Vision, you will:
- conduct special pedagogical investigations
- develop pedagogical strategies for the consequences of disabilities
- document special pedagogical investigations
- conduct and lead various training initiatives
- follow national and international research and proven experience in the areas of school development, disabilities, and visual impairment and blindness
- continuously develop your skills and study to deepen your knowledge in the field of special pedagogy with a focus on vision
The work as an advisor is varied and stimulating, allowing you to influence your own work situation. You will have access to a broad network of various competencies within the special pedagogical field. In some assignments and tasks, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from other units and different parts of the country.
Travel across the country is included in the regular job duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- teaching certification and qualification to teach grades 1-3 in primary school or preschool teacher certification and qualification to teach in preschool and preschool class
- degree as a special educator or special teacher
- experience working as a preschool teacher or primary school teacher
- experience working in adapted primary school
- experience working as a special educator or special teacher
- experience in consultative work
- solid grounding in relevant curricula for preschool, primary school, or adapted primary school, as well as disability policy
- good ability to use the Swedish language in speech and writing
- good ability to handle IT-based tools
It is advantageous if you have:
- special pedagogical training with a focus on visual impairment
- training with a focus on intellectual disabilities
- experience working with children with visual impairments or blindness
- experience in multicultural learning environments
Your personal qualities:
We are looking for someone who:
- has a good ability to work in teams, develop new contacts, and create good relationships
- has a good ability and experience working independently and in groups
- has a good structure and order in your work approach

OTHER
Probationary employment of 6 months applies.
A criminal record extract must be presented before employment.
In the event of a societal crisis, you may be directed to work between the agency's operational areas based on your placement location.
