JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for new colleagues for the home care units in the Hisingen 2 district, which includes Backa, Tuve, Kärra, Brämaregården, and Ramberget. We are looking for you who want to work as a care assistant on a permanent basis or as a temporary employee.

As a care assistant in home care, you work closely with people and support each individual's daily life. You perform care and support work in people's own homes. As a care assistant, you motivate and stimulate the elderly based on their individual conditions, needs, and wishes.

The services are granted based on assistance and can vary from personal care, support around meals, support in social activities, and with certain health care tasks. You will be involved in many people's life situations, which can be both interesting and challenging. As a care assistant in home care, you work independently but also together with others in the common care and support work.

We work according to the Social Services Act and the national value base, focusing on the individual's needs at the center. The work involves providing social care and support based on a health-promoting approach, which includes utilizing the individual's resources and focusing on the strengths of each care recipient.

Your responsibilities include being a primary care contact, planning, implementing, documenting, and following up on the care work with the person in need of support and assistance. It also includes performing health and medical care and rehabilitative interventions as prescribed by a nurse, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. All social documentation is done digitally. If you have not previously used the systems used within Gothenburg City, you will receive training in these.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:
• We are looking for you who are a trained care assistant, can show the National Board of Health and Welfare's certificate of protected professional title, or can show that you were employed as a care assistant when the new regulations were introduced.
• You can cycle and are willing to use a bike for work.

Desirable:
• B driver's license - for several of our units, this is a requirement.
• Experience in care and support work.
• Experience or further education in geriatric psychiatry.

Personal Competencies:
As a care assistant in home care, you adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation, ensuring your message gets across. You are friendly and helpful to others and show respect for everyone you meet at work. You work to ensure that the care recipient gets what they need.

In difficult and pressured situations, you remain calm and secure. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. As a care assistant in home care, you work independently and have the ability to make your own decisions in daily work without relying on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward.

You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You start from everyone's equal value and create a good atmosphere in the meeting. You have an open and positive attitude, as you have the care recipient's needs as the starting point for your actions.
