Team Leader & Mechanical/Fixture Designer

Your Role

The production technology team plays a crucial role in developing and supporting production. The team consists of about 20 specialists in manufacturing and production technology, with a group working on fixture and tool design.

We are now looking for someone who wants to combine a team leader role with operational work in mechanical design for fixtures and production equipment. The team consists of 4-6 people, and your task will be to support them in their deliveries to reach milestones.

You will be an important cog in the organization when it comes to coordinating resources and assignments, as well as working operationally on developing your own designs.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate, plan, and follow up on resources and assignments in relation to our projects.
• Participate in design reviews regarding manufacturability.
• Based on design and production needs, develop technical solutions in the form of fixtures, tools, lifts, aids, and special equipment.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation and purchasing specifications.
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing phase and during the implementation and use of tools/fixtures.

Requirements

• The ability to lead, plan, and follow up according to project plans.
• Experience in developing production documentation for welded and machined constructions.
• Higher education or experience in mechanical design.

Desirable Experience

• Experience in project management.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and Windchill/Creo Parametric.
• Experience in the shipbuilding industry or similar operations.
• Experience with AVEVA ERM or similar business systems.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
