Description

Do you want to be part of our engaged and creative library team? Hällefors Municipality's library operations consist of a newly renovated main library in Hällefors and a branch in Grythyttan.

We are now looking for a curious, creative, and proactive librarian who wants to help develop the library's activities. The main focus of the position is to work with children and young people.

You will be part of a team of five employees where we collectively work to make the library an inspiring meeting place for literature, culture, and lifelong learning.

The library is part of the Bergslagsbibblan library collaboration, which will expand this spring to include public libraries from nine municipalities in Örebro County.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement reading promotion activities, both at the library and through outreach.
• Collaborate with other activities, such as open family activities, preschool, and school.
• Select and purchase media for children and young people.
• Work at the library's information desk. Some evening and weekend shifts may be required.
• Other tasks that may arise at the library.

Qualifications

• University degree in library and information science or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Creative, self-driven, and meticulous. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
• Good collaboration skills and ease in building relationships.
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups. Flexible, solution-oriented with a good sense of service and approach.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
• Driving license B.

Meritorious

• Experience in reading promotion work for children and young people.
• Good knowledge of children's and youth literature.

Conditions

Permanent full-time employment with a start date of September 1, 2025, or as agreed. A probationary period may apply. The person offered the position must provide a police record extract. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Interviews are conducted continuously, so the position may be filled before the application deadline.
