The unit for police education is responsible for ensuring that police training meets the authority's needs – both in terms of the content of the training and the available training places.

The unit is responsible for, among other things, attracting, planning, coordinating, following up, developing, and quality assuring the implementation of training for police officers, including the subsequent training for aspirants conducted within the Police Authority.

The assignment includes handling and preparing requirements for the educational institutions that conduct police training on behalf of the Police Authority and managing dialogue, agreements, and quality follow-up with educational institutions as well as orders to the National Service and Assessment Agency.

JOB DUTIES

In the role of responsible for aspirant training, you will ensure the quality of documentation, provide feedback on action plans and assessment materials. As the responsible for aspirant training, you will support the aspirant managers, mentors, instructors, and aspirants. You will have the primary responsibility for the aspirant training in your Police Region and have an administrative and pedagogical responsibility to ensure that the training is carried out according to plan in collaboration with the aspirant managers in your region.

The responsible for aspirant training should promote quality, uniformity, and experience exchange between police regions. This involves close cooperation with national responsible for aspirant training, other responsible for aspirant training, and aspirant managers in the police regions. You should work towards a healthy culture and a correct approach from mentors and instructors towards the aspirants.

Other tasks that may occur in the assignment include:

  • continuing education for mentors and instructors
  • attending conversations with aspirants of a more difficult nature
  • developing national documents
  • collaboration and meetings with the region
  • collaboration within your own organization
  • conducting calibration both in your own region and in your own national group.

QUALIFICATIONS

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • approved police exam according to the Police Ordinance (2014:1104)
  • several years of experience working as a police officer
  • completed aspirant mentor training
  • very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • worked as an aspirant mentor with good results
  • experience in conducting training
  • experience in collaboration at different levels
  • experience in handling difficult conversations
  • experience in quality assurance of documentation, action plans, and assessment materials
  • experience in a similar role

As the responsible for aspirant training, high demands are placed on your own engagement and drive to move the work forward successfully. Since the role involves a lot of contact with aspirant managers and trainers, you need to have good collaboration skills and the ability to communicate at all levels. The assignment will place high demands on you being self-driven and responsible.

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
