About ProTrain

At ProTrain's headquarters in Mjölby, we are about twelve people working in various roles including planning train traffic, personnel planning, vehicle coordination, production management, and business development. ProTrain offers staffing with train drivers, shunters, and supervisors as well as our own traffic assignments in freight transport and shunting. Today, we are over 150 people in the company with operations throughout Sweden. The majority of our employees work as train drivers or yard operators in our staffing assignments and in our traffic operations.

About your work

The planning department is the very heart of ProTrain's operations. Here, we ensure that all our assignments are staffed with personnel who have the right competencies and that all practical aspects are in place for our staff to perform their work. A very important part of your role is the contact with our train drivers as well as internal and external points of contact. Much of the communication occurs via phone and email.

In this role, you will work with:

• planning and optimizing traffic and resources where collective agreements, customer needs, and driver competencies are parameters to consider.
• planning and coordination during traffic disruptions.
• planning and resource allocation during vacancies and rerouting.
• updating schedules and registering deviations in the planning system.
• administration related to the position, such as work related to payroll and bookings of hotels and travel.
• vehicle management.

About you

We prefer that you have previous experience as a planner, logistician, staffing planner, production planner, or similar roles where you have gained experience in operational planning and optimization of flows or resources. Experience from the railway industry is an advantage, as is experience from other transport sectors. If you lack experience in planning roles, we place great importance on experience from the railway industry.

As a person, you are solution-oriented and can see situations from multiple perspectives. You have good communication skills and are perceived as service-oriented and unpretentious while being able to stand behind your decisions. Enjoying a role characterized by many points of contact and collaboration is essential for thriving with us. The work requires that you can communicate in Swedish both verbally and in writing, and that you have good computer skills.

About the employment

The employment is full-time and permanent. Working hours according to schedule (shifts). Placement in Mjölby.

With extensive experience in railways, business thinking, and modern market-adapted strategies, we create business benefits for our customers. We offer our clients staffing, shunting services, and railway transport in both Sweden and Norway.

We have a team of well-educated employees and can strengthen an organization with train drivers, supervisors (TSM), and shunters/yard staff for the entire traffic setup. We currently staff both freight and passenger traffic for both large and small railway operators. ProTrain also performs competitive, efficient, and customer-oriented shunting in the Port of Gothenburg and Gävle Port.

With roots in the former SJ school in Mjölby, we have trained train drivers since 1977. Today, we offer basic training for train drivers in several locations in Sweden.
