About ProTrain

At ProTrain's headquarters in Mjölby, we are about twelve people working in various roles including planning train traffic, personnel planning, vehicle coordination, production management, and business development. ProTrain offers staffing with train drivers, shunters, and supervisors as well as our own transport assignments within freight and shunting. Today, we are over 150 people in the company with assignments throughout Sweden. The majority of our employees work as train drivers or yard operators in our staffing assignments and in our transport operations.

About your work

The planning department is the heart of ProTrain's operations. Here we ensure that all our assignments are staffed with personnel who have the right competencies and that all practical aspects are in place for our staff to perform their work. In this role, you will be responsible for one of our transport assignments within freight, which involves close collaboration and dialogue with our customer as well as contact with terminals, drivers, and other stakeholders.

In this role, you will work with:

• planning and optimizing traffic and resources in close dialogue with the customer.
• scheduling and route setting based on collective agreements, customer needs, and driver competencies.
• planning and coordinating during traffic disruptions.
• planning and resource allocation during vacancies and diversions.
• updating schedules and recording deviations in the planning system.
• vehicle management.

About you

To thrive in this role, we believe that you have a background in the transport sector, preferably within railways. As a person, you are solution-oriented and can view situations from multiple perspectives, as well as having a good ability to adapt to changing conditions. You will have close contact with our customers where your communication skills are of utmost importance. We believe you are perceived as proactive and attentive with a high level of service, while also being confident in your decisions. Furthermore, you are a team player who enjoys collaborating and building good relationships both internally and externally. You have a humble attitude and actively contribute to a positive work environment, where you and your colleagues find the best solutions together.

The job requires you to communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, and you should have good computer skills.

About the employment

The employment is full-time (daytime) and permanent. Placement in Mjölby.

With extensive experience in railways, business thinking, and modern market-adapted strategies, we create business benefits for our customers. We offer our customers staffing, shunting services, and railway transport, in both Sweden and Norway.

We have a team of well-educated employees and can strengthen an organization with train drivers, supervisors (TSM), and shunters/yard personnel for the entire traffic setup. We currently staff both freight and passenger traffic for both large and small railway operators. ProTrain also performs competitive, efficient, and customer-oriented shunting in Gothenburg Port and Gävle Port.

With roots in the former SJ school in Mjölby, we have trained train drivers since 1977. Today, we offer basic training for train drivers in several locations in Sweden.
