About ProTrain

ProTrain offers staffing with train drivers, shunters, and supervisors, as well as train operations under our own traffic license. Today, we are over 100 people in the company serving all over Sweden. The majority of our employees work as train drivers or yard operators in our staffing assignments and in our traffic operations. At ProTrain's headquarters in Mjölby, we are about ten people, and here you will become part of an experienced team that works with planning train traffic, personnel planning, and vehicle coordination.

About the position

In the role of planner, you will work with the planning of train traffic and resources. In dialogue with our train drivers, customers, and the Swedish Transport Administration, you will plan and optimize the staffing of our traffic operations. This means that you will be the one creating schedules considering applicable collective agreements, driver competencies, temporary vacancies, or traffic disruptions.

Furthermore, you will plan when and where it is appropriate to review or repair wagons and ensure that this, as well as the overall traffic flow, is done in the most favorable way for personnel and in relation to cost-effectiveness. It is also part of your role to be responsible for quality follow-up, for example, by comparing our routes' estimated and actual costs at the end of the month and working towards future efficiencies based on this.

The employment starts as a consulting assignment via OnePartnerGroup, starting April 1, 2025, until mid-August 2025, but for the right person, there is an opportunity to eventually transition to a permanent position directly with ProTrain.

About you

We wish that you who apply have previous experience in logistics, staffing, or production planning, alternatively that you have had another operational role where you have worked to optimize flows and resources. Experience from the railway industry is not a must, but is highly meritorious. If you lack experience in roles that involve planning, you are still welcome to apply if you have previous experience in the railway industry.

As a person, you are solution-oriented and can see situations from multiple perspectives. You have good communication skills and are perceived as service-oriented and unpretentious while also being able to stand behind your decisions. Enjoying a role characterized by many contact points and collaboration is a prerequisite for thriving with us. The work requires that you can communicate well in Swedish, both spoken and written, and that you have good knowledge of the Office suite.

Other

Extent: Full-time, during your time as a consultant you will work weekdays during office hours. In the event of a permanent position after the consulting assignment, the work may involve shift work.
