Björkhöjdskolan is one of Borås City's newest schools. The school is located in a quiet area with forests and nature right at the doorstep. We are close to the forest and other outdoor facilities. Our bright premises are newly renovated, spacious, and purpose-built. We who work at Björkhöjdskolan are dedicated and have just established the school as a F-6 school. Today, we have about 300 students, with two parallel classes and four after-school departments.

Björkhöjdskolan has a hearing profile, which means that we offer education for students with hearing impairment or cochlear implants (CI) who are starting in preschool or in grade 7. At Björkhöjdskolan, we have been teaching hearing-integrated students since 2018, when we started on a small scale. We have a close collaboration and exchange with the Hearing Team Borås at Södra Älvsborg Hospital. Our hearing profile is based on inclusion and means that students with hearing impairments or CI learn together with hearing students while also meeting other students with hearing impairments or CI. We have good competence with educators and staff who have knowledge about hearing impairments. The classrooms are adapted to create a good speech and hearing environment.

Together, we create a safe and warm atmosphere as a foundation for the students' knowledge development.

Teacher in After-School Care at Björkhöjdskolan F-6

Responsibilities

You will work in one of the school's four after-school care facilities. Together with the other teachers in the school's three after-school care facilities, you will develop the after-school activities. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating the activities based on the curriculum and other governing documents. During a workday, you will also support students in one or more of the school's classes in school collaboration.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

-Has a teaching license for after-school care or is an educated leisure pedagogue.

-Is familiar with the curriculum and the central content for after-school care.

-Has an interest in driving the development of the school's after-school care activities.

-Demonstrates good leadership qualities and creates safety and order.

-Has experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

-Communicates easily and builds and maintains good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

-Is flexible and able to collaborate well.

-Is creative and can work both independently and in teams.
