About this vacancy

Are you an engaged teacher who loves to teach and would thrive in an international environment? We at IES Södertälje are now looking for a teacher in visual arts qualified to teach grades 7-9. The position is a full-time employment for the school year 25/26.

The workplace

IES Södertälje is a free school for students in grades F–9 with around 800 students and 88 staff members. Whether you are new to the profession or have worked for several years, we believe that IES Södertälje could be the next step for you. We follow the Swedish curriculum with teaching in both Swedish and English.

The position

We are looking for a certified teacher who will become part of a creative and experienced team where you are responsible for your own teaching planning. We work closely together in our subject teams with subject development and interdisciplinary themes. We are looking for a creative team player who wants to be part of a staff group where we work together to create a quality education at our school.

Teaching takes place in Swedish or English, while our corporate language is English.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher qualified to teach visual arts.

You have the tools to create a good study environment and your clear leadership and teaching style contribute to good goal fulfillment.

In the role, it is important that you have good communication skills and it is natural for you to handle computers and technology in your daily work. You work to create accessible environments and have an understanding that all people have different conditions and absorb knowledge in different ways.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching visual arts for grades 7-9.
  • Creating the necessary conditions for students to absorb knowledge and achieve their individual goals.
  • Developing students' knowledge and abilities based on the curriculum, through clear criteria, goals, and feedback.
  • Being a role model and offering safety, order, and a calm school environment.
  • Mentorship for a class.
