Systems Engineer for the Air Defense Unit at FMV

As an employee in the Air Defense Unit, you will be part of the Armament Materials area, whose main task is to provide equipment to the Swedish Armed Forces' land combat capabilities. The Air Defense Unit is responsible for acquiring and maintaining the Armed Forces' air defense systems. This is done through procurement from the defense industry, where FMV's main task is to set requirements, review, and verify deliveries.

We are looking for someone who

We are looking for someone who is a qualified civil or engineering graduate or has equivalent competence acquired in another way.

You have at least two years of experience in project work and experience with technical systems.

A prerequisite for the role is that you have a good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written form, in both Swedish and English. You also need to be proficient in MS Office.

As a person, you are self-driven and have a good ability to collaborate with others. You work in a structured manner and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Domestic and international travel is a natural part of the job.

About us

FMV's Armament Materials area delivers technology, services, and equipment to the Armed Forces. The Air Defense Unit is part of Armament Materials, where our task is to acquire air defense systems and support the Armed Forces with maintenance. This is done in project form within the areas of sensor, effect, and command systems. The operations are carried out in close cooperation with Swedish and foreign industry/government agencies, other units within FMV, and the Armed Forces' staffs and units.

The Armed Forces are in an expansive phase, where the demands on FMV to deliver air defense systems are very high.

Job Responsibilities

As a systems engineer, you will participate in one of our ongoing projects that require various areas of expertise, such as systems safety, ILS (Integrated Logistics Support), and SE (Technical System Work). You will support the project manager in their responsibility to plan and lead requirement setting, review, and verification. You will also participate in meetings and work in preparation for deliveries, both internally within FMV and externally with suppliers and the Armed Forces.

The position of Systems Engineer may be combined with other tasks within the Air Defense Unit, and the responsibilities may also change during the course of the projects. There are also good opportunities for employees to deepen their knowledge of specific systems through various internal training programs.

The position is based in Halmstad.
