For our client, we are looking for a Battery Manufacturing Operator Technician to work on a temporary assignment at a manufacturing site in France. The main responsibility will be to operate a battery cell inspection scanning station. The battery inspection scanning station is a device that is designed to receive a tray of cells which are all stored in slotted locations in the tray. The scanning station is equipped with a robot arm that, when the tray is properly docked and the station is started will move through a sequence of picking each cell up one at a time and scanning each cell, returning it to the slot origin, and then moving to the next cell, until all cells in the tray have been scanned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety at all times, including adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices for hazardous materials.

• Operate the IonSight Scanning Station, an ultrasound based battery inspection machine.

• Manage the feed in and feed out of the battery cell tray to and from the scanning station.

• Prepare each tray of cells for scanning by following a procedure to prep cells for scanning (such as applying terminal protectors, applying Kapton tape, etc)

• Prepare each tray of cells to be in proper condition to be returned to an operator / location (removing any temporary applications or ensure cells are cleaned, etc)

• Perform maintenance on the machine (after training), and be able to work collaboratively with engineers if receiving remote support to guide through a sequence of steps to fix an issue

• Maintain clean area, free of debris, trash, clutter.

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Communicate professionally and properly represent the company and be respectful of others

• Communicate effectively with team members to share insights, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the overall success of the pilot program.

• Work Closely with other team members on site, such as a battery science, to ensure the pilot program is successful

• Participate in meetings and standups and be prepared to communicate progress and issues

• Provide support to provide information when asked by teams members (such as a battery serial number or a scan ID)

• Be prepared to work with spreadsheets or other files types as needed in support of program operations and data management

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience working in a lab environment where individual operated machinery requiring hands on activities.

• Familiarity with electronics, batteries, electrical equipment and machine shop tools. Ability and confidence to work conscientiously in a customer factory, being aware of surroundings, operating with the mindset of safety

• Team player

• Can-do attitude

• Ability to work autonomously while knowing individual is a critical member of a small team required to maintain operational efficiency and cadence with a broader team of multiple engineering disciplines

• Ability to speak English is required. Ability to speak French would be a big plus.
