Food Inspector at Region Gotland

At Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

The Unit for Food and Alcohol Permits

The Unit for Food and Alcohol Permits is responsible for the preparation and processing of cases primarily according to the Food Act and the Alcohol Act.

Gotland has a large number of food establishments, many of which are only open during the summer, so the unit needs to strengthen its staff with three additional food inspectors.

Your Responsibilities

As a food inspector at Region Gotland, your main task will be to control food businesses according to applicable legislation. This includes inspection/audit of food establishments, investigating complaints, providing advice and information to operators and the public.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who has started their education or is a qualified food agronomist, nutritionist, environmental and health protection inspector, or has other relevant education combined with work experience in the field deemed equivalent by the employer.

We introduce and train our summer staff, but previous experience in food control work is an advantage. You should have some knowledge of regulatory work, food legislation, administrative law, and quality management systems in food companies.

You have a good ability to express yourself in both speech and writing and can produce high-quality documents and convey messages clearly and well-formulated. Since the work involves many contacts with operators and the public, it is important that you appreciate customer contacts and have a professional approach. You carry out your work in a goal-oriented and meticulous manner. We also value good teamwork skills and a strong willingness to contribute to the team.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

Recruitment is ongoing, so interviews and appointments may occur before the application deadline.
