Nurse for Oncology Clinic Day Care
REGION VÄSTMANLAND 19 days left
to apply for the job
As a nurse at the Oncology Clinic's day care unit, you will have the opportunity to create continuity, involvement, and security for patients and their relatives during a crucial part of their lives.
We offer a workplace where collaboration, learning, and development are a natural part of everyday life. Here you will work closely with the patient, develop your competence in modern cancer treatment, and be involved in the development of future cancer care.
Job Responsibilities
At the day care unit, we treat patients with various cancer diseases, and you will follow the patients through large parts of their treatment period. The work includes both advanced nursing care and medical-technical tasks. You are responsible for planned treatments, follow up on effects and side effects, and inform and guide patients and relatives regarding treatment and medication. Telephone advice and support for patients' self-care are also a natural part of the assignment.
You plan much of your own work and have your own schedule while working closely with colleagues from different professions. Together, you create a safe and secure care environment where the patient's needs are at the center.
Cancer care is continuously developing through new medicines, treatment methods, and ways of working. With us, you become part of a forward-looking operation where development, learning, and improvement work are a natural part of everyday life. We are also undergoing an exciting transition towards more close and patient-centered care, with the goal that patients to a greater extent can receive their treatment closer to home. We have also implemented and developed Cydos, a program for ordering, manufacturing, and administering, among other things, cytostatics.
About the Workplace
At the Oncology Clinic's day care unit, nurses, assistant nurses, and doctors work together to provide patients with safe and secure care. We have a stable and experienced group of employees with great commitment to both patients and colleagues. We value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and an open climate where it is natural to ask, learn, and develop together.
The operation also includes a PICC clinic and a clinical trial unit, which enable participation in studies and contribute to the development of future cancer treatments.
We belong to the Oncology Clinic in Västerås, where approximately 130 employees work within outpatient care, inpatient care, radiotherapy, and cancer rehabilitation. The care is characterized by a holistic view of the human being, where physical, psychological, social, and existential needs are a natural part of the care.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, which is why we offer you:
- a tailored introduction program to help you feel safe and secure in your professional role
- opportunities for competence development through, for example, internal training
- a workplace for all stages of life, with the possibility of flexible working hours within certain frameworks
- free training at our fully equipped gym
- health allowance of 3,000 SEK/year
