The role of Pharmacist in Ward Pharmacy

As one of our employees is moving to another region, we are now looking for a new colleague to join our team at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö. As a licensed pharmacist with us, your duties will consist of healthcare-adjacent medication work on the hospital's care wards as well as medication supply.

You will participate in work on the care ward where you conduct medication reviews, talk with patients about their medications, prepare medications, and order and restock medications in the wards' medication stores. You work independently on the care ward, while maintaining close collaboration and continuous dialogue with your colleagues within the team. Most of your time will be spent on your "home care ward," but in the long run, you will learn to work on more care wards.

The position is a permanent employment with start date as agreed. Your location is Höglandssjukhuset Eksjö. Working hours are weekdays, excluding holidays, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Your future workplace

Ward Pharmacy is responsible for Region Jönköping County purchasing and using medications in the best possible way. We are located at the county's three hospitals, and our operations consist of medication supply to the hospitals, manufacturing/preparation of cytostatics and sterile preparations, ward pharmacy, and clinical pharmacy. Together, we are approximately 55 employees, of which nine work at Höglandssjukhuset Eksjö.

Your profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed pharmacist. We particularly value that you have an interest in working close to healthcare and a willingness to learn our area of work. Perhaps you have experience as a pharmacist and are curious about changing direction. Or you are a recent graduate and want to use and develop your competence in a role in close collaboration with healthcare. Regardless, your attitude and motivation to develop in the role are the most important to us! If you already have experience in healthcare-adjacent pharmaceutical work and/or experience in preparing and dispensing medications, it will come in handy.

In this position, you need to be able to express yourself clearly in speech and writing in Swedish and be accustomed to working in various IT systems.

To thrive in the role of pharmacist, we believe you need to appreciate both close collaboration with your colleagues and working independently. You will become part of a work group where several professions work together; therefore, a communicative approach and the ability to build trust in meetings with both patients and healthcare staff are important.
