Psychiatry Department
We are Akademiska Sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. Here, something is always happening – a new life is born, a grandmother undergoes surgery, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, within a strong community of colleagues. We welcome your application!
Our Operations
The Addiction Medicine Clinic is a unit within Region Uppsala that provides specialized addiction care for adults. We are an outpatient clinic consisting of a team of specialist nurses, nurses, doctors, psychologists, social workers, and medical secretaries who together meet people with an addiction disease and concurrent psychiatric/somatic comorbidity.
The clinic is characterized by good collegial cohesion and an exciting, varied, and meaningful assignment, where you as an employee are given the opportunity to grow and make a difference.
The workplace is located in the Psychiatry House at Akademiska Sjukhuset. In addition to the clinic at the hospital, we also have mobile operations and an integrated addiction clinic in Tierp.
Your Role
As a nurse at the Addiction Medicine Clinic, you play a central role in providing our patients with safe and supportive nursing care. You will have the opportunity to work independently in assessing, planning, and implementing nursing interventions based on the care plan you help create together with the patient. At the same time, you will become part of a skilled and multiprofessional team that supports and helps each other in daily work.
In addition to your colleagues at the clinic, you collaborate with other healthcare providers and public authorities to ensure that the patient receives the help and support needed outside the clinic. By supporting the patient in taking responsibility for their own health and treatment, you contribute to improved quality of life and increased opportunities for long-term recovery.
The work also includes medication administration, telephone counseling, and, if interested, the opportunity to lead group therapy.
You will be part of psychiatry's ongoing transformation work, where you will have the opportunity to help develop and implement routines and guidelines for nursing care, which are based on evidence and guiding care processes.
Your Qualifications
- Licensed nurse; specialist nurse education in psychiatry is an advantage.
- Experience in nursing within psychiatric care, preferably within addiction care or specialist psychiatry.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and having a good understanding of collaboration between different healthcare professions.
Your Competencies
As a person, you are sensitive, empathetic, and have the ability to meet each individual where they are. You have a strong interest in working with patients with addiction diseases and thrive in an environment where collaboration and flexibility are crucial for providing the best possible care. You have a good ability to work both independently and as part of a team and find it easy to build trust and good relationships with patients and colleagues. Since the patient group often has complex care needs, the work requires great commitment, patience, and a problem-solving attitude.
Personal suitability will be given great weight.
We Offer
We offer a permanent full-time position, Monday–Friday, with start date as agreed. Probationary employment may apply. Selection and appointment are made on an ongoing basis, so do not wait to send your application to us. With us, you get benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).
