With 24/7 on-call service, clinics across the country, and broad veterinary medical competence, we contribute to good animal health, strong disease control, and a safer society. The District Veterinarians are part of the Swedish Board of Agriculture.

There are many workplaces where you can work as a veterinarian. What makes the difference is the people you work with. At our clinic in Vårgårda, you will become part of a tight-knit team consisting of six veterinarians, one licensed veterinary nurse, and two animal care assistants. Here, the atmosphere is open, laughter is close by, and helping each other out when the day doesn't go as planned is second nature.

Our clinic is located at the beautiful Vårgårda Manor, with a convenient commute from Gothenburg, Borås, and Alingsås. We work with companion animals, horses, and livestock, and our operations are characterized by high medical quality, warm hospitality, and a desire for continuous development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Here, you will have a varied job where no week is the same as the last. One day you might be performing surgery on a dog, the next day performing a gastroscopy on a horse, or going out into the field to help a horse owner. It is this variety that many of us appreciate, making the work both stimulating and developmental.

You will work with companion animals, horses, and to some extent livestock, both at the clinic and in the field. The tasks range from preventive healthcare and medical investigations to emergency animal care, diagnostics, and treatment. The position offers great opportunities for a broad veterinary role while leaving room to develop specific areas of interest.

At our companion animal clinic, we have excellent conditions for advanced diagnostics and treatment, including:

• Digital X-ray
• Ultrasound
• Dental department with dental X-rays
• Modern laboratory
• Well-equipped operating room

Our equine activities are conducted both at the clinic and in the field, with fieldwork making up the largest part. Here, we work with:

• Advanced dentistry
• Digital X-ray (DR)
• Endoscopy and gastroscopy
• Medical investigations

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed veterinarian or who are about to complete your veterinary education. For us, it is more important that you are curious, engaged, and enjoy working with others than exactly how many years of experience you have.

Experience with both companion animals and horses is meritorious, but we place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You thrive in a varied work environment, appreciate collaboration and knowledge sharing, and want to contribute to a positive work climate. You have a genuine interest in veterinary medicine, a professional demeanor, and a desire to continue developing throughout your career.

At the District Veterinarians, you will receive an introduction tailored to your experience, an individual development plan, and access to a large collegial network with competence groups, training, and clinical observation throughout the organization.

A B-class driver's license is a requirement, and you must be able to participate in the organization's on-call duties.

Salary: Monthly salary.
