Specialist Physician in Nephrology – Höglandssjukhuset, Eksjö

The Role of Specialist Physician in Nephrology

Nephrological care covers the inpatient ward, dialysis department, and nephrology outpatient clinic. The investigation and treatment of patients with medical kidney diseases are part of the assignment through work at our dialysis department, inpatient ward, and nephrology outpatient clinic. We are two specialist physicians and one resident physician (ST-physician) in the nephrology section and have close collaboration with nurses and paramedics. Being involved in driving development work at the clinic is a natural part of your assignment. The role also includes supervising future medical colleagues. The medical clinic offers good opportunities for research and improvement work. On-call duties are included in the position.

Your Future Workplace

The Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö is a developing operation where we care for patients in need of specialized medical and geriatric care. The nephrology section is part of the Medicine and Geriatrics Clinic at Höglandssjukhuset in Eksjö and is responsible for nephrological inpatient and outpatient care, including home dialysis and peritoneal dialysis clinics, as well as on-call/consultancy activities. The clinic provides specialized care within all internal medicine sub-specialties. The primary catchment area of the medical clinic covers approximately 110,000 inhabitants, but for region-wide activities, we are responsible for the entire Region of Jönköping.

Your Profile

To be considered for the position, you must have a Swedish medical license with specialist competence in internal medicine and/or nephrology, or alternatively, be at the end of your resident training (ST) in nephrology. If you have a few years of experience within nephrology, we view this positively. Our work is governed by documents that are often in Swedish, so you need to have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-insight. You communicate clearly with other people. Your leadership style creates motivated and engaged employees. The role requires a good ability to think strategically and broadly, as well as the ability to plan and organize your work efficiently. You provide a good reception to patients and colleagues and value our teamwork at the clinic, which requires good cooperation skills.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
