Surgical Department

Welcome to Enköping Hospital – Big care in a small setting!

Here, around 700 dedicated colleagues work in an environment where close collaboration and community are second nature. We are located in an expanding region with convenient commuting options to Stockholm, Uppsala, and Västerås. For those considering moving to live close to work, the Enköping region has much to offer. The hospital provides acute and planned care for approximately 72,000 residents in Enköping, Håbo, and Södra Heby, and we also have specialist responsibilities throughout Uppsala County. Here, you can make a difference – for the patients and for the operations – in a work environment where we continuously develop together. Do you want to become part of our team? You are warmly welcome to Enköping Hospital!

Our Operations

The Orthopedic Rehabilitation Ward works from a person-centered and rehabilitative approach. Here, the starting point is the meeting with the patient. We are now looking for a new colleague who is passionate about teamwork, focusing on each patient's unique prerequisites and personal goals.

We are an inpatient ward for patients with orthopedic diagnoses who have additional needs for care and rehabilitation following, for example, trauma, fractures, or prosthetic surgeries. Lengths of stay are typically between seven and ten days and are adapted to the patients' needs. We have twelve beds on the ward, divided into two teams, with six patients per team. Teamwork is central to the ward, enabling a holistic view of the patient, individualized measures, and promoting patient safety.

We focus on healthy work schedules and hours, developmental team rounds, person-centered care, daily management, and more. We work to streamline discharges and actively collaborate with our colleagues at the rest of the hospital, Uppsala University Hospital, and in the municipality.

Your Role

As a nurse here, you play a key role in the team. In addition to the usual duties of a nurse, you will also;

  • Have motivating conversations with patients.
  • Be involved in the patient's nursing care and rehabilitation.
  • Lead the morning rounds.
  • Assess incoming referrals.
  • Coordinate with other professions at the hospital as needed.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. We prioritize if you have experience working in a hospital. You appreciate varied work, want to influence and develop operations, and are an engaged and positive colleague who contributes to a good work environment. If you enjoy working in teams from a person-centered approach where the patient is involved in their care and rehabilitation, you are warmly welcome to apply.

We Offer

We offer a permanent position at 100% (or part-time) with a start date as agreed. The shift work includes days, evenings, and weekends. Here, you receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/ (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/)).

As a new employee at Enköping Hospital, you will get a solid and supportive start to your career. Your employment begins with your participation in KULE, our comprehensive induction week for new employees, where we offer an interprofessional setup. Here, you will meet and collaborate with colleagues from several different professional categories. For newly graduated nurses, we also offer an extended induction for an additional three months. This includes reflective professional supervision as well as shadowing and coaching by our clinical adjunct. You will also participate in practical training at our CTC (Clinical Training Center), a safe and supportive environment to practice and develop your skills.

Uppsala County values the qualities that equal gender distribution and diversity bring to operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different backgrounds, abilities, and life experiences.

Uppsala County mobilizes all permanently employed personnel based on the needs of the total defense. This means no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure.

Before a decision on employment, a check of the suspicion and criminal records will be conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought employment, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or involuntary care of addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks at present are not intended to mainly involve work with the above-mentioned patient groups.

This recruitment is conducted entirely through Uppsala County's own channels, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales.
