The Mobile Emergency Unit (MEU) is an on-call and assessment service offering telephone counseling, doctor visits, and emergency home visits for patients residing in Northern Stockholm Psychiatry’s (NSP) catchment area. The unit is available every day of the week between 08:00 and 22:00.

The Mobile Emergency Unit is located at S:t Görans Hospital Campus on Kungsholmen and belongs to the Northern Stockholm Psychiatry clinic.

The unit serves as a hub for Northern Stockholm Psychiatry, collaborating with all outpatient clinics and inpatient care services in its role as an on-call and assessment team. The MEU also houses NSP’s referral portal, responsible for assessing and processing all referrals sent to Northern Stockholm Psychiatry. Additionally, the unit staffs the coordinator line for patient admissions to inpatient care.

We are now looking for an Assistant Nurse for the Mobile Emergency Unit, primarily for evening shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Home visits providing support with medication intake and psychiatric assessments.
  • Psychiatric telephone counseling 08:00–22:00.

Terms of Employment

Permanent position, full-time. Primarily evening shifts and weekends. Start date according to agreement.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified Assistant Nurse with proof of a protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare, and who have experience and interest in psychiatric care. You must have good knowledge of the region’s organization and how psychiatry is structured regarding treatment interventions and levels of care. Strong collaboration skills, a flexible and solution-oriented approach to work, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. A valid B-class driver’s license is mandatory.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be allocated for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Council (SLSO):

  • A background check will be conducted prior to employment decisions, in accordance with SLSO’s overarching guidelines.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination through occupational healthcare before starting.
  • In addition to Swedish professional licensure, excellent knowledge of Swedish at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required. The same requirement applies to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
