About the role

As an Infrastructure Specialist, your primary responsibility is to plan, document, and visualize changes in the fiber network to minimize disruptions and ensure high availability during maintenance and construction projects. In collaboration with the IT and Network unit, you drive overall network planning and ensure stable internal and external connections. Additionally, you act as technical sales support, creating customer-specific solutions and supporting the organization with your fiber expertise. The work is highly varied and requires that you thrive with a good balance between technical and administrative tasks.

The role will also include:

• Driving assignments and smaller projects, such as customer deliveries, maintenance measures in the fiber network, and reconstructions in the transmission network that affect the fiber network.
• Documentation of changes in the fiber network in our support systems.
• Inventory and inspection of fiber installations in the field.
• Implementing improvement activities within your area of responsibility, both technical and process-oriented.

You will have the opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge within fiber and long-distance network planning. You will also have the opportunity to develop and influence the overall network planning for the fiber network, both in the short and long term. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the work with the development and creation of new support systems for documentation and planning of the fiber network.

As an Infrastructure Specialist, you belong to the Fiber and Construction Projects unit. The unit consists of about twenty employees responsible for fiber and IT delivery in construction projects, as well as participating in the management and development of Svenska kraftnät's vital fiber network. The unit is also responsible for our external telecom business where we lease fiber to external parties.

The unit is now expanding as Svenska kraftnät's assignments grow in scope and complexity, and we are looking for you who want to be part of developing and improving our operations. The unit belongs to the IT for Networks and Facilities department, which supports the NETWORK division with the IT solutions needed for the management, expansion, and reconstruction of the electricity transmission network.

We are looking for someone with a structured and result-oriented work approach, which is required for you to independently drive projects to completion while maintaining a good overall perspective. Your creativity is important for finding smart solutions in the long-term planning of a reliable fiber network. Since the role involves many contact surfaces, you are also collaborative, which enables you to build relationships easily and enjoy achieving results together with others.

Education:

You have an education in fiber/data/IT or equivalent competence acquired in another way that Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent.

You also have:

• Several years of experience in independent work with planning of long-distance fiber networks.
• Experience working in documentation systems for fiber networks.
• At least three years of relevant work experience from practical work with fiber networks, planning, splicing, or inspection.
• Experience working with planning of rerouting and outage management in fiber networks.
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
• Valid Category B driver's license.

Meritorious

• Experience with the following fiber documentation systems: DP-COM and/or Connect Master.
• Experience in analyzing and evaluating final documentation of fiber networks through their test protocols and other documentation.
• Several years of experience as a project manager for fiber network expansion.
