Do you want to make a real difference? Here you contribute to creating safety for people and communities. What you do matters.
We are now looking for Airport Technicians for Saab, with the location in either Arboga, Linköping, or Nyköping. We know that we create meaning and security for the entire transport sector; do you want to contribute? The role involves responsibility for supervision to ensure flight safety for systems that are part of the infrastructure of Swedish airports.
Your Role
Within the Airport Technology section, we offer services directed towards airports. Today, we are 12 qualified employees who have the necessary authorizations required to deliver flight safety-enhancing solutions to airports in Sweden. We work both civilly and militarily and have a broad customer base, with airports from north to south.
You will work together with experienced system administrators and airport technicians, where the training largely consists of collaboration. Initially, you will be assigned a dedicated mentor with whom we will develop a development plan so that we can reach our goals together. You will be a vital part of creating safety and ensuring that Swedish airports have the highest level of flight safety. A vision we are proud of – It's a human right to feel safe.
To perform this role, you must also be certified and authorized. The certification is called ATSEP (Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel) and is a process involving theory courses, on-the-job training alongside an instructor, and finally being checked out and authorized for the respective subsystem.
In the role of ATSEP, you will be responsible, together with our project managers, for driving and ensuring that the airports' systems meet current regulatory requirements and technical stability. The technical systems consist largely of radio, navigation, and meteorological systems located at our customers, the airports.
You will be part of our technical team that drives and administers the customers we have today. As an ATSEP, your role will not only be focused on current systems but also involved in the continuous development that takes place together with our customers and subcontractors. An exciting future.
The position involves approximately two weeks of travel days per month.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who are communicative and have good collaboration skills, as the role involves significant customer contact and many internal contacts within Saab. You have good knowledge of English and Swedish, both orally and in writing, and are meticulous and systematic.
The role involves a fair amount of technical follow-up and coordination. Incident follow-up, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance are the primary tasks. If you do not have the right technical background, we will ensure that you gain the necessary knowledge through both internal and external training. However, basic technical knowledge is necessary, as is the ability to interpret technical documentation, which is crucial for success in the role.
Another important part of working with flight safety systems is the ability to perform risk assessments, which is why you should have good analytical skills and be able to present structured assessments without difficulty.
It is meritorious if you have electrical/electrician knowledge, or experience with airport systems, radio, IT/network technology, and the Swedish Transport Administration's regulations for airports. We also consider climbing authorization for masts and working on roofs as meritorious.
A B-driver's license is required.
The position requires that you undergo and pass the security clearance checks according to current regulations. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
What You Become Part Of
Discover endless possibilities. Take on challenges, create smart innovations, and upgrade your skills. This is a place for clever thinkers, brave pioneers, and everyone in between. Together we achieve the extraordinary, each bringing their unique perspective. Every contribution counts.
