The Social Care Administration in Borås Municipality is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health care interventions for these target groups. With approximately 1,000 employees and 45 managers, we continuously work to improve the quality of our services for those we exist to serve.

About the Role

At the Social Care Administration, you will find stimulating work with an exciting patient group. At the municipal health and care unit in Borås Municipality, two teams work with disabilities and one team works with social psychiatry. Your tasks will be directed towards patients living in group homes, service apartments, as well as patients in ordinary housing with personal assistance.

Responsibilities

At the unit, six physiotherapists work with disabilities. We have the time and resources to work thoroughly and in detail with our patients, and we can develop and improve our work with our target group in focus. The Social Care Administration is a smaller department. Short decision-making paths offer great opportunities for developing both the unit and our work in the direction we desire. Examples of projects we have initiated include training groups in gym and water environments, training videos, education in transfer skills within the operations, and initiatives to promote increased physical activity among a sedentary target group.

Some of the diagnoses we work with are Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, various forms of intellectual disability, and neuropsychiatric diagnoses. We also work with acquired brain injuries and degenerative neurological diagnoses such as MS, ALS, and Huntington's disease. We provide physiotherapeutic interventions regarding musculoskeletal problems that may arise from the patient's underlying disease, but we also assess, investigate, and treat other ailments our patients suffer from.

Our patient group requires a creative mind where you will be challenged to use your usual physiotherapeutic knowledge and methods in new ways. Therefore, it is important that you, as an applicant, dare to think outside the box and dare to be both playful and inventive in your solutions.

Qualifications

The collaboration between different professions and with various authorities in the region is extensive, which requires you to have good cooperation skills. You should enjoy working independently and taking responsibility for your time and work, while also appreciating being part of a team working towards the same goal. You should have good organizational and cooperative skills, as well as a high degree of flexibility. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

We work Monday-Friday during daytime hours with good opportunities for a flexible schedule, where you take responsibility for how you organize your work in consultation with your colleagues. To some extent, there is an opportunity to do administrative work from home. A Category B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
