As a casual staff member within support, care, and social services, you have a meaningful job where you make a difference for various individuals.
Your responsibilities
As a casual staff member within support, care, and social services, you work within elderly care, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), or social psychiatry, covering for temporary absences. The work involves providing daily support based on the individual's needs, which may include personal care, practical help at home, as well as social and motivational support. You meet people in different life situations and contribute to security, structure, and a functioning everyday life.
You receive an introduction through digital training and by shadowing experienced colleagues, ensuring you feel confident in your assignment. In some operations, medication delegation may also be included.
Your workplace
As a casual staff member, you can work in over 100 different operations within the municipality.
Within elderly care, you support older people in their daily lives and contribute to strengthening their own abilities. The work takes place either in care and housing facilities or within home care services and is adapted to the individual's needs. In residential facilities, you work together with colleagues and encounter various specializations such as dementia, somatic care, or short-term care. Within home care, you work more independently and visit several people during the same shift.
Within LSS, you work with children and adults who have intellectual disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries, or other extensive functional impairments. The work takes place in, for example, group homes, service apartments, short-term homes, or within personal assistance. It is based on clear communication and individualized approaches, where you often work closely with colleagues in structured environments.
Within social psychiatry, you support individuals with mental health issues, neuropsychiatric difficulties, or social vulnerability. The work involves motivating, creating structure, and strengthening independence. You meet people with varying needs, and there may be situations that require a secure and stable approach.
Who you are
We view education as an asset. It is positive if you have ongoing upper secondary studies or a passing grade in SFI C (Swedish for Immigrants). Education within care and social services, childcare, or behavioral areas is seen as particularly advantageous, as is previous experience from work or practice within care and social services.
For work within social psychiatry and HVB homes (Hem för vård eller boende - Homes for care or housing), a complete care and social services education or at least 60 higher education credits within social work or health and medical care is required, alternatively another complete upper secondary education combined with at least one year of experience within care and social services.
You need to be at least 18 years old and have the ability/willingness to perform personal care. The work requires good ability to communicate orally and in writing in Swedish, as well as good computer skills. Depending on the operation, it may be necessary to be able to cycle, and in some cases, a driver's license or access to a car is an advantage. An extract from the criminal record is required, and a language test may be part of the selection process.
We are looking for you who enjoy meeting people and who have a respectful and attentive approach. You take responsibility in your work and have the ability to work independently while collaborating well with others. You have good empathy and can put yourself in other people's situations and needs.
