About us

As a project manager within development, you will be part of a team with the lead project manager within the Land and Development unit. The unit is part of the Office for Community Development. The Land and Development unit has a total of 21.5 positions with mixed competencies within the land and development area, such as coordinators, project managers, development engineers, project directors, and land managers.

The unit consists mainly of a development and implementation function as well as a property ownership function. The employees participate in the municipality's work on community development and work in close collaboration with other units in the office.

About the position

As the lead project manager for development, you have a leading role where you coordinate and drive projects in close collaboration with colleagues, managers, and other relevant stakeholders. The work is based on legal, economic, and technical perspectives. The role involves responsibility for:

• Leading and organizing development projects in both the planning and implementation phases.
• Ensuring the progress of projects based on time, economy, and quality.
• Collaborating with colleagues within the project and the entire Office for Community Development.
• Preparing and presenting cases for political decisions.
• Representing Upplands Väsby Municipality as a landowner, where negotiation and relationship building are important parts.
• Being a representative for the municipality towards the public, business life, and various market actors.

We believe in responsible and strong leadership, good communication, and clear structures. You prioritize and delegate to other members within the project and report regularly to the steering group and to the Head of Land and Development.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for you who have:

• A university degree with a focus on surveying, civil engineering, community development, or another that can be considered equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in project management within development and/or urban development.
• Knowledge and experience in relevant legislation and practice, such as the Planning and Building Act, the Environmental Code, and the Land Formation Act.
• Good knowledge of Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have experience working in a politically governed organization.
