Job Responsibilities
The position of school social worker is a central part of the municipality's school social work. Today, the school social work team consists of two school social workers, and we are now looking for a third colleague to strengthen the team and meet the need for support for students and their families.
This initiative is part of our ambition to provide more children and young people with the right support at the right time, as well as to continue developing close cooperation between schools and social services.
As part of a growing team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues, develop working methods together, and contribute to the continued development of the municipality's school social work. We believe in the strength of a team-based approach where you share knowledge, support each other in complex cases, and jointly develop methods that make a real difference for children and young people.
As a school social worker, you work at the individual, group, and organizational levels, focusing on removing social barriers to learning and schooling. You have a specific mandate to strengthen collaboration between schools, social services, and guardians, acting as a vital link between the school's educational mission and social services' support measures.
The work is carried out in close collaboration with the schools' student health teams and in dialogue with teachers, school management, and other professionals. At the same time, you are organizationally placed within social support, the preventive and open care unit within the social services administration, which gives you access to collegial support, supervision, and a strong professional context.
You are a natural part of the school environment and work relationally together with students and their families. You follow students over time, adapt interventions based on individual needs, and contribute to creating sustainable solutions that strengthen the student's conditions for success in school.
The role is under development, which means you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of school social work. Together with your colleagues, you will develop working methods, approaches, and forms of cooperation to provide children and young people with the right support at the right time.
About the Workplace
The main task of the Social Services Administration is to offer individually adapted support and services within elderly care, disability services, children and family, adults, and financial assistance. We are present for the municipality's residents throughout all stages of life.
You will be part of an engaged school social work team that works in close collaboration with schools, student health services, and social services. The team currently consists of two school social workers and is now being expanded with one additional position. Together, you will work to strengthen school attendance, promote student health, and create good conditions for children and young people to succeed in school.
We work on a team basis and see collegial collaboration as a natural part of the assignment. By having several school social workers, good opportunities are created for experience sharing, joint method development, and support in daily work. With us, you do not have to stand alone in complex issues; we develop the operations together.

What We Are Looking For in You
To succeed in the role, you have:
- a degree in social work
- experience working in social services with children and young people
- experience in motivational and treatment work
- very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
- A driver's license (Category B).
It is an advantage if you have:
- experience working with school social work issues
- knowledge of neuropsychiatric functional variations.
