The Health and Social Care Administration provides service, support, care, and social services to the elderly and people with disabilities, and is responsible for administrative duties according to current legislation. The administration operates within elderly care, LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), social psychiatry, healthcare, family support, and administrative duties. All work is performed with the citizen in focus, based on our core values: treatment, participation, trust, and security. Job Description

As a Resident Support Worker, you support users in their own apartments in supported housing. The assignment involves motivating and providing practical support for an independent life, both in and outside the home. The purpose of resident support is to enable housing and to provide people with disabilities with a social context that increases self-esteem and strengthens the individual's ability to eventually achieve an independent life.

A Resident Support Worker's role in supported housing also involves the ability to use oneself as a working tool. This requires good self-awareness, sufficient knowledge to maintain a professional attitude, and the ability to build a good relationship with the individual. Through competence, engagement, and creativity, you find solutions and methods that develop the operations. Your foundation should be built on the equal value of all people, meaning that the individual has the right to be treated with dignity and respect based on their person and their wishes.

As a Resident Support Worker, you should be a support for those who need support and motivation in daily life and home matters, such as cleaning, personal hygiene, cooking, activities, and being a helping hand in situations where the resident may need assistance. The work includes documenting and being responsible for evaluating and following up on the housing interventions, development, and implementation plans. Since the target group's life situation can change significantly, you need to be flexible and solution-focused. As a Resident Support Worker, you have knowledge of acting according to the laws and regulations governing the operations.

You have a positive view of people, patience, a professional attitude and approach, and a genuine commitment to the assignment.

Qualifications

  • Pedagogical or psychiatric orientation.
  • You need at least a basic qualification as a nurse assistant (undersköterska) with a psychiatric focus. We prefer that you are a social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue, support pedagogue, or have other post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent. You must have had medical delegation previously.
  • You must have long work experience with the target group social psychiatry or substance abuse.
  • You must be structured, responsible, confident in yourself, and good at collaborating.
  • In daily work, it is important that you follow established routines and have an open dialogue with users and colleagues.
  • We work with a low-affective approach. It is important to meet the individual with calmness and avoid entering into arguments or sanctions. Our goal is for users to avoid stress and uncertainty and instead succeed.
  • Preferred: Education in MI (Motivational Interviewing), ESL, threats and violence, low-affective treatment.
  • You have a documentation requirement, which presupposes that you can express yourself well in writing in Swedish and have good computer skills.
  • Experience from psychiatry, treatment, or pedagogical work is required.
  • Category B driver's license is a requirement.

Employment Terms

The positions are full-time (100%). A certificate of good conduct may be requested upon employment. The employment may begin with a 6-month probationary period. The form of employment is permanent. Start date: According to agreement.
