We are now looking for a Managing Director who wants to develop Storsjöcupen and create unforgettable experiences for the next generation.

About the Job

As Managing Director, you have overall responsibility for Storsjöcupen from the initial planning to the final whistle. You lead the operations year-round, ensuring that each tournament is a well-organized, safe, and memorable experience for players, coaches, volunteers, and visitors. The role is both strategic and operational.

You lead a team of 18 people with various responsibilities within Storsjöcupen, plus an office with one full-time employee. In addition, you coordinate a large number of volunteers and officials before and during the tournament. You report to the Chairman and a board composed of representatives from IFK Östersund, Ope IF, and Frösö IF.

One day you work on development, budget, and collaborations, and the next day you solve practical issues regarding accommodation, transport, or event logistics. You have many contact points and build long-term relationships with clubs, municipalities, schools, partners, and businesses in both Sweden and Norway. The position is located in Östersund and is a full-time role (100%).

In this role, you are responsible for, among other things:

  • Leading the planning, execution, and development of Storsjöcupen.
  • Coordinating employees, volunteers, and partners.
  • Being responsible for the budget, operations, and results.
  • Developing the tournament's side events and participant experience.
  • Building long-term collaborations with clubs, municipalities, and businesses.
  • Responsible for developing the tournament's revenue through partnerships, collaborations, and new business opportunities.
  • Driving the continued development and growth of the tournament.

Requirements

  • Location: Östersund
  • Travel: May occur
  • Driver's License: Category B required
  • Start Date: According to agreement

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for you who have:

  • Experience in leading large events, projects, or organizations.
  • Documented experience with budget and result responsibility.
  • Ability to coordinate many actors and stakeholders.
  • Experience leading staff, volunteers, or voluntary forces.
  • Good communication skills and express yourself well in Swedish and English.

Merits:

  • Experience from sports events or the tourism industry.
  • Experience in destination development or brand building.
  • Experience in sponsorship sales and partnerships.
  • A network within sports, business, or the public sector in Sweden and Norway.
  • Experience from club life or children's and youth activities.

As a person, you are:

  • You are someone who creates trust and makes people want to contribute. With clear and engaging leadership, you inspire others and get many different people to work towards the same goal. You are structured and solution-oriented, thrive in an environment where the pace varies, and have the ability to think long-term while getting things done here and now. You see opportunities, build relationships, and are driven by developing both operations and people. Above all, you share our ambition to create a safe, inclusive, and memorable experience for all children and young people participating in Storsjöcupen.

Feel like this is the right challenge for you? Apply today!

About Storsjöcupen

Since 1972, Storsjöcupen has gathered children and young people from all over the world for a football festival in Östersund. With over 500 teams in the main tournament and a growing Little Storsjöcupen, we are today one of Sweden's largest international youth tournaments. But Storsjöcupen is much more than a football tournament. Friendships are created across borders, lifelong memories are made, and a community extends far beyond the football pitch. This is the experience we want to continue developing. Together with clubs, schools, municipalities, businesses, and hundreds of dedicated volunteers, we create one of Jämtland's largest events every year.
