About the Operations

We are now looking for a Reconditioning Technician who wants to become part of our team. Hjälpmedel Västernorrland has chosen to work extensively with reuse, and the proportion of reconditioned assistive devices is 75% of our daily deliveries to users across Västernorrland. Hjälpmedel Västernorrland works to offer practical medical technical assistive devices with broad competence and high service quality, so that people with disabilities can have an easier daily life, as well as increased independence and security. The operations are quality certified according to the ISO 9001 standard, and we have described processes, routines, and instructions for how the work should be performed. The assistive devices are prescribed to the individual by the region's or municipality's healthcare staff, who order the devices from us at Hjälpmedel Västernorrland. We have daily transports out to the entire county. The operations are revenue-financed, turnover around 200 million SEK, and have 57 employees. The operations consist of three units (Technical Service, Logistics, and Consultant). You will be part of a team consisting of technicians, logistics personnel, consultants, as well as administrators and a support staff.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with the workplace in Sundsvall. Start date according to agreement in autumn 2026.

Responsibilities

As a Reconditioning Technician, you will work with the return, washing, reconditioning, and repair, as well as the assembly of assistive devices such as manual wheelchairs, rollators, shower chairs, beds, etc. The main task is the reconditioning of assistive devices. An important part of the job is to continuously keep up with the technical development within assistive devices. Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that users have access to safe, practical, and updated assistive devices that support their participation and independence.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who

• Have a completed upper secondary education of at least three years, preferably within technology.
• Have at least three years of work experience.
• Have good skills in the Office package.
• Have good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing.
• Have a B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you

• Have education as an assistive device technician.
• Have experience working within an ISO 9001 quality certified operation.
