Apply: Young Project Manager for Young Småland Triennale
SMÅLANDS DISTRIKT AV FOLKRÖRELSERNAS KONSTFRÄMJANDEKronobergs län, Markaryd
Previous experience is desired
Do you want to influence the future of the art scene in Småland?
Constipation Småland is looking for a young project manager (aged 15–25) for the newly launched project Young Småland Triennale.
Young Småland Triennale is a youth-driven democracy and art project aimed at strengthening young people's long-term influence on the development of the art scene in Småland and on Öland. During the project, young people will organize themselves into local groups, build regional networks, and develop ideas on how the future art scene can become more relevant, accessible, and inclusive.
We are looking for you who want to help build the project from the ground up together with other young people. You do not need to be an experienced project manager when you start – this is an opportunity to learn by doing. You will work closely with an experienced project administrator who will act as a mentor, support, and sounding board throughout the project.
The project is carried out with support from the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society (MUCF) and in collaboration with several of the region's leading art institutions.
About the position
The position is a fixed-term employment at 50 percent during the period September 2026 to August 2027 with a base salary of 28,000 SEK.
The work is carried out both digitally and on-site around Småland and on Öland. Evening and weekend work occurs in connection with meetings, workshops, travel, and events.
Responsibilities
As a young project manager, you will:
- Plan, implement, and develop the project's activities.
- Build contact with young participants in Småland and on Öland.
- Organize local meetings, workshops, and networking events.
- Coordinate and support local youth groups.
- Work with communication and social media.
- Participate in meetings with art institutions, artists, cultural actors, and other partners.
- Document the project's activities and results.
- Contribute to developing proposals on how young people can have greater influence on the development of the art scene.
- Participate in conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and public presentations.
We are looking for someone who
- Is between 15 and 25 years old.
- Lives in Småland or on Öland.
- Is interested in art, societal issues, democracy, or organization.
- Is curious about how the professional art world works.
- Enjoys collaborating with other people.
- Is quick to take initiative and turn ideas into practice.
- Is responsible and wants to develop as a leader.
We place great emphasis on personal commitment and motivation.
It is an advantage if you
- Have your own artistic practice within, for example, visual arts, photography, film, writing, performance, craft arts, or other artistic expressions.
- Have participated in or worked with youth projects previously.
- Have experience from association life or voluntary engagement.
- Have been active in student councils, youth councils, student unions, or similar democratic contexts.
- Have been engaged in a political youth organization or other membership-based organization.
- Have experience organizing exhibitions, concerts, festivals, workshops, or other public activities.
- Have experience with social media, communication, or content production.
- Have a driver's license.
We offer
- Meaningful work where you get to make a real impact.
- Opportunity to learn project management through practical work.
- Guidance and mentorship from experienced project managers and cultural producers.
- A large network within the professional Swedish art scene.
- Contacts with artists, curators, art galleries, museums, and cultural institutions across the country.
- Experience in democracy work, organization, and cultural production.
- Opportunity to represent the project at conferences, seminars, and art events.
- Valuable experiences and qualifications for future studies and working life.
